Ok guys, so I decided to make a guide on how to "perfect" using your banking alt. Now, I've only had one banking alt before, so this is just out of my personal experience and other guides I've seen.
Getting Started
So you might be asking, what in the world is the point of a banking alt? I have a main with all his bank tabs filled out, 4 22 slot bags that I use for all my spare gear and quest items. What's the point of making a bank character and wasting money on him?
Well, here's the thing. If you know how to work the auction house (http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-gu...ouse-tips.html is a pretty good guide), you shouldn't have much trouble understanding why you need a banking alt. If you have a main, you're usually going to be:
A) Out questing
B) Doing achievements
C) Grinding (If not 80 yet)
D) Farming eternals and things of other sorts
and
E) Sitting at a raid spot, waiting for your guildies/Puggies
You aren't going to have time to go to Org or wherever just to check out the auction house. That's where the banking alt comes in.
My Preferred Race
For the Horde, you're probably going to want to be a female blood elf. Yes, I know BEs are usually always shunned from the "society," but the thing is, most people like themUsually bank characters should have dark hair--don't ask me why-- people just seem to trust people with dark hair more. Now trust most likely isn't a factor you need to have in play, but it still seems to help. How to get to Orgrimmar do you ask? Well, just run to Silvermoon City, go back to the Sunfury Spire, and take the teleporter to Undercity. Once you're in UC, run out and get to the zeppelin tower on the right. Run up the stairs and the first zepp you arrive at is the one to Orgrimmar.
(You could always make any race you like, BEs are just one of the best in my opinion.
For the Alliance, I prefer a male human. Preferably with short black hair, just to make him seem more professional. Humans have a very short walk to Stormwind, the "main" Alliance city. They can also take an easy tram ride to Ironforge, or a boat to Auberdine then another boat to Darnassus/The Exodar. Humans are a favorite bank character of many, because they're the "norm" race. Plus, they look like good bankers when dressed up.
(You could always make any race you like, Humans are just one of the best in my opinion.
What Class to be
If you want to make a level 1 bank character, go warrior (Alliance only if you're making a Human)/paladin for sure. Mainly because they can wear mail at level 1.
My preference is to make a hunter (Horde only if you're making a BE), level him up to 20 (Not that hard) then he has aspect of the cheetah. Very useful for running from auction house to bank to mailbox. Also, hunters can dual wield at level 20.
Now, you can always make a level 1 bank character then get him a run speed increase on some boots.
What to Wear
I'm going to be going for a sophisticated look on this.
NOTE: Enchants are extremely optional. I'm not going to put them on here (Except for one), just so you have the ability to choose.
Head: Noble's Monocle
Neck: Truly does not matter. I prefer Polished Pendant of Edible Energy. Mainly because the icon just looks cool.
Shoulders: Not really much to choose from here. If you get the Mantle of the Fire Festival, you'll most likely level up on the way. Plus it's not going to match the rest of the gear. But hey, you can show it off to your friends.
Cape: We aren't going to be using a cape. Most average people don't.
Chest: You knew it was coming! Tuxedo Jacket! This and the rest of the tuxedo gear are obvious choices for looking good.
Shirt: Tuxedo Shirt for obvious reasons.
Tabard: You could always wear a guild tabard. But I prefer to do this guy's method. (Picture at the bottom) ALL CREDIT GOES TO MR BARBEQUE AT THIS THREAD: http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-gu...-bank-alt.html
Bracers: These definitely aren't necessary, but Antique Silver Cufflinks definitely go along with the sophisticated look.
Weapon: I usually just prefer a plain old Skinning Knife. Mainly because most aristocrats don't carry around huge swords/mining picks, but a knife is very plausible.
Gloves: None.
Belt: I usually don't wear a belt, but Tattered Cloth Belt seems to match the outfit.
Leggings: You guessed it! Tuxedo Pants are obviously the best choice of pants.
Boots: Dress Shoes for sure. Mainly because they have "dress" in the name and they match
Rings/Trinkets: You don't particularly need a ring, but anything from the jewelcrafting vendor is perfectly fine. No trinkets needed.
Now, how you go about getting this gear is completely up to you.
How to use your Bank Alt
Bank alts are pretty much used for storing your mains items. Now you might ask, why not just use a bank? Well, can you access a bank from a mailbox anywhere in the world of Azeroth? No.
Many people like to use banks for when they're farming. They run out of room in their backpack, run to a mailbox in a nearby town, then mail all the things they farmed to their bank character and sell all their trash to a vendor.
One cool thing about banks is they have an infinite amount of storage. You might say, well they have to run out of room eventually, even if they have all 22 slot bags. That's partially true if you don't know how to use the mailbox to your advantage.
Here's what you do:
1) Get to a mailbox on your main.
2) Mail everything you want your bank alt to store (not sell; you can only do this if you want them to store these things for a while and then sell them or just for them to keep while you're farming.)
3) Get on your bank alt to make sure you got the mail. Go to your mailbox to check everything's there.
4) Now, DON'T open any of it. Just leave it there.
5) After 30 days, the mail you sent to your bank will be sent back to your main, where you can simply re-mail it and do it all over again.
Bank alts are also very useful for selling things, obviously. Just mail them all the items you want them to sell, then they can go to the AH and put them up.
If you want to use your bank alt to its full advantage, you're going to want to buy all the 22 slot bags you can get. Of course, most people don't want to spend that much money on frostweave bags, so simple netherweave bags will do. You can slowly upgrade as you gain more money through your bank, or just keep the netherweave bags. Doesn't matter to me.
Lastly, make sure to add all the people you're going to be sending mail to on your friends list, even if they're on your account. This will save time typing in all the names.

I think I'm done with this guide for now. Any suggestions/criticism is welcome.
