Alliance Rogue Twinking Guide

Well, we all know that twinks can be annoying if killed by one, but have you ever thought of it the other way around? Been a twink can relieve stress as you hardly have to try to kill. This can be fun at those times where, you really don't want to grind no more.

To be honest, they have a good replay value, I have 8000 kills almost, on mine. I'm not even bored of it yet!

Well anyway, on to the actual "Twinking" of your character.

This is based on my twink, a Level 19 Rogue, Named Ornatetwínk

Starting out:

Basically level your character as normal until you hit around 16/17. If you get bored of levelling from 10+, do a Battleground (WSG) and get some Honor and Tokens towards the Honor items, explained later on in the guide. Anyway, here is where you will be needing to gear up.

Firstly, you can get alot of your items off of the AH, prices varying from 10g, to 500g. This all depends on the economy of your server and other variables.

Optional to buy, but Green Tinted Goggles

Very expensive, so up to you if you want to grind them on your main...

Once you have these items, you are around 1/6 the way to a fully equipped level 19 twink.

Now for the hard part, the BOP Quest/Drop items. You should level perfectly to 19 by running the instances for the following items, but if you don't, you know what to do .

Questing:

There are a few quests for items for those that wish to gain a good agility bonus, here are those that I recommend:

Tunic of Westfall that can be obtained from the "The Defias Brotherhood" quest.

Seal of Wrynn that can be obtained from the "An Audience With The King" quest.

BOP Honor items and BOP drop items:

To gain the drops, I recommend you pay players, or get guidlies to run you in the required instance, I think they are all from WC.

To buy the honor items, head to Ashenvale - Kalimdor and then to the alliance WSG entrance to the South east, link to the vendors location at the bottom of this thread.

Neck

Sentinel's Medallion - 65 Honor & 20 WSG tokens.

Shoulders

Serpent's Shoulders - Drop from WC, Lady Anaconda (Boss)

Bow

Outrunner's Bow - 214 Honor & 30 WSG tokens.

Ring(s)

Protectors Band - 65 Honor & 20 WSG tokens.

Trinket(s)

Arena Grand Master

Insignia of the Alliance - 2805 Honor

Professions:

You need 150/165 (Gnomes for 165) Engineering to use the goggles. This won't take long still, but a must if you want the heads up on the competition without fishing for the Hat, explained later.

Your second Trait is totally up to you, but I chose alchemy for the Swiftness Potions.

Fishing is a must if you wish to do the Fishing on a Sunday to Obtain the "Nat Pagle's Fishing Set." This consists of a Hat, and Boots. A good thing about these is they give immense stamina, and can be enchanted with anything you wish, as they are an "All-Level" reward, meaning they have no level on them, so you can get level 35+ enchants on a level 19's boots. Also thanks to Syrzan for this bit, if you do get the fishing items, please go for the +8 agility on head, and the higher levelled "Minor Speed Increase" on boots.

Moving on...

Enchants:

These are what make the Twink. Enchants are picked wisely and to support your specialist Base Stat, I have composed this guide around an Agility Rogue, which I find are alot more fun because you crit more and get hit less.

Head

+100 HP. Gained by buying, just ask "Wtb +100 hp on head," always works.

Cloak

+12 Dodge or for more crit...
+3 Agility

Chest

+100 HP

Bracers

+9 Stamina

Gloves

+15 Agility

Legs

For these, use Nethercleft Leg Armor (Advanced) or if you don't have the funds, for 100hp less you can get...
Clefthide Leg Armor

Boots

Minor Speed Increase

Weapons

+15 Agility (x2)

Yes, I believe this is one of the best layouts for an Agility Rogue, as I said, my favorite type of twink.

I have tried Stamina Rogue, Tank Druid, and a Priest, But the Agility rogue just had to top it off. Can gain Insane stats.

Plus, if you read ANY twink guide, it almost always tells you to either go for all BOE's like Defias, or to go all BOP, if you catch my drift.

And thanks for the +Rep! Going to go find some places that I know of and post them in Exploration. Know of some good ones I haven't come across yet on these forums.

nice guide, although I would use a few different items for an agi/balance twink.

Gloves of the fang, +4 all stats on chest, +8 agi on head and thiefs blade for off hand wpn. Also try getting 2x Shadowfang with fiery or SF/CB for max DPS, also handy for 1v1 with war/palla. and +50ap enchant on bandit pants of power for max DPS when rolling with a healer or for arena with a healer.

Check out my 19 twink if you like but dont use 2x SF with +15 agi as thiefs blade is a better OH wpn for an agi build. (just i have multple shadowfangs so i had 2x equipped for some reson)

Like I said, I was basically basing this on how I made my twink.

Yes, those are better for the agility, but think of a Twink with only 1200 HP, because that is what it would be.

I was going to say to your other post: Shadowfang x2, are you MAD? Have blizzard altered them to "One Handed" instead of "Main hand?"

As for the +4 all stats, not many people do that on my server so sort of hard to comment on that.

ALSO

If I got fishing Hat & boots, ofcourse I would go for agility then, because you gain insane Stamina from those 2 items alone!

Yeh blizz has altered shadowfang to one handed, check my twink he has 2 equipped atm, but like i said the extra agi from thiefs blade is generally better than duel SF unless u have 3 and use SF/TB with agi and SF/SF with fiery for max DPS

Btw your twink looks nice, If your interested migrating to my server, my main can do +4 all stats on chest and my guild can get throat piecers for your ranged wpn. Also your gear is good enough to apply to <drums of war> although we would expect you to work on getting full fishing gear asap to keep up with the gear requirements of the guild(we run protection in STV during the contest with our 70's for guildies that havnt yet got fishing gear on all their twinks.)

Anyway its just an offer if you think its worth the xfer money.

This is all wrong...

Feet of the lynx aren't the best boots, either is the engineering head nor the bow.

What you should get is the boots and head from the weekly fishing competition in STV. The items can be enchanted with TBC enchants and they give ALOT of stamina to your twink (usable on cloth twinks too.)

And for the ranged slot you get the Throat Piercers from (Horde) Tranquillien. Maybe post on the realm forums if you can't find someone who puts them on the neutral AH.

Learn to read? If you read the whole thing you would see that I included these. My guide is mostly a quickstart and I stated about the Fishing Set lower down.

Honestly the ignorane of some people, thinking they know it all when all they had to do was read 1 complex sentence and their problems would be over.

And as for the piercers, they hardly give a bonus, and on my server, about 1% of twinks have it, hardly for me to know much about that. Give it a break QQ'ing about other threads and write a more constructive post...

Because they DO NOT drop anymore. Only way you get these is if someone pre 2.3 (before sfk was nerfed) got em to drop and had it collecting dust in their bank. Now if you do happen to come across one on ah.. 1000-7000g will get you an ancient shadowfang, the best twinking sword in game. On my twink im lucky I got assassin's blade for only 400g, it was a steal. And before you ask I haven't seen anyone confirm that they had a shadowfang drop after 2.3 My friend and I, 70 prot warrior and 70 warlock went to sfk, ran it he gathered everything there I did a few seed of corruptions, no shadowfang we did this around 37 times, we'd log back on after reset cooldown was gone and do it again, we got a lvl 19 mace and robes or necro something dont remember, but no shadowfang. So uhh.. goodluck with that.

Shadowfang has a minute drop rate anyway. May have been removed from drops but I highly doubt it. Will look in to it.

Shadowfang is a level 24 sword and can only drop from a level 21+ mob in shadowfang keep. Pre 2.3 most of the mobs in SFK were lvl 21+, now only 5 bosses in the instance are level 21(plus one of them is a rare spawn).

Pre 2.3 it took aproximatly 100 runs to find 1 shadowfang and 80 to find assasins blade. As there used to be about 100 mobs in the whole instance could drop the sword and now there are only 5. So to grind Shadowfang now you would have to clear the instance about 2000 times on average.

Luckly I grabed 2x shadowfang and 2x assasins blades before 2.3 for my rogue twink

and it has been confirmed multiple times by GM's that shadowfang still drops somewhere in the game , check the pwn depot forums for SS ect.
