[Tip] Make some gold when you're bored

Hey guys. Have you ever just been sitting in Shatt, bored out of your mind? Well, here is a little something that you can do to pass the time and make some money!

Go get 50 Red Ribboned Wrapping Paper from your nearest vendor. To see who sells the item, go here: Red Ribboned Wrapping Paper - Thottbot: World of Warcraft

Now, go browse the AH for an item that is relatively cheap, around 15-20 gold. But, try to find an item that is in demand. Or if you happen to have an item just laying around in your bags, just use that.

Now, wrap that item with the wrapping paper.

In the trade channel, type something like:
"Want a chance to get [Item]? Well come to me at -your location-! It costs 2g, and you get a chance to win this item! You can play as many times as you want!"

Trick is, give out the item last! So you will give out the 49 empty wrapping papers, and then the last person will get the item. Then say something in the trade chat such as:
"Congratulations to -winner's name- for winning [item]! Want a change to win [item]? Come to -your location- to play!"

This way people know that this is not a scam. Make sure you give out the item! Don't be greedy .

So, if you bought a 20g item, and get 100g from the contest, that is an 80g profit. Not too bad eh?

Well, Kof, what is your area of expertise?

Are you good at emulation? Scripting in LUA, cpp and sql? If so check out the Emulation section.

Good at creating guides? Can explain things in detail? Make up some guides.

Can you manipulate the game? Check out the exploit section.

Good programmer? Know VB, cpp and java? Check out the hacks section.

Well, honestly, i don't have any real "area of expertise" per se...

I'm majoring in networking administration/security in college right now, and minoring in Japanese, but that's about it. And I don't really see how i could apply that to WoW .

IDK, ill keep my eyes peeled out there on the net or in the game, and see if i cant sometime come up with something that i could contribute. Until then, guess ill stay a "lazy leecher" learning stuff from you guys

Seriously, though, ill spend some time thinking up some stuff for the community and see if i cant eventually help out.

Bannable or not bannable, it's against Blizz's policies because it's a casino style random chance to win.

Letting the victims know beforehand that it's only a chance doesn't change that they consider it a scam.

Well i would say that this isent coverd by blizzards lottery rule. As you are not using the roll function at all and what people actually do is buying something they dont just give you the money and wait for you to roll so in that essence your not scamming them in anyway as they know that the package they BUY might be empty.

Blizzard also states that all transactions are final and as long as you clearly state that 49 of 50 are empty you will not scam them becasue they know what they are giving themself into.

What i would do to minimize whines is put something into all packages. If you have the Savory Deviate Delight recepie you could easyily catch 49 of them and put them in 10 2nd price wraps and have like 20 3rd prices of a smaller value that you easliy can get for free or buy for a very small amout.

That way 31/50 will win.
