This guide is intended to help you find duplicates before you post on mmowned. If you follow this guide you will greatly reduce double posting


ok in this guide i will be using a duplicate that just recently came up. http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-ex...ome-human.html


this person while posting probably used this as his search terms.


i did this and this is what came up.








as you can tell nothing related came up here is why



now im 90% sure the auto search program when you create a post does this as well.



now your asking "What else can i do to find if its a repost"

were here is my answer, you have 2 options

A. You waste hours of your time manually searching through the forums
or
B. You follow this guide



ok so you chose A....then you realize your wasting your time and come back to chose B now simply follow these steps to improve your search.


to start we will be using a title search. This is easily done by clocking advance search then:



now take the terms in your current title and put it there.



then hit search now.



well you get a lot of results, but searching through all the pages there is still nothing similar to your post, give up? not yet.


ok now we are going to use something called "context" basically what were doing here is taking some stuff from your actual post and putting it into the search.

lets start. First we will take something that if some one else posted about it would be in there, so we chose.



then we put that into the search box



and hit search



ohh nooooo nothing came up, but thats ok just lower terms.

so this time were going to do the same thing, but lower the terms to



copy that into search



and hit search




ok we have found a repost!


now you may be thinking, what if i haven't found a repost yet? well there is yet another few tricks.




Using advanced search to its fullest:

ok you should always use advanced search! why? because used right gives better results!







Using google:

ok you may be asking how this works, well im here to tell you!

you simply do the same as you did above in the normal google search box but at the end of every term put mmowned.com lets try this with just the title









there are many many more ways you can find reposts, these are just the ways that have worked best for me in my experimentation. Thank you for reading this guide in an effort to improve the mmowned comunity.

Nice search guide, but it's not a WoW guide.

Plus the leechers that do the reposting would be too lazy to read this anyway. I have pretty biased views that they just don't care, they only want to copy + paste for the quick rep before the flamers come in.

Yes., but there are reposts from more than leechers, ive seen contributers (more uncommon but i seen them) repost so its not like its not going to happen
