Ok, I understand this completely falls under the "Common Sense" rule, but I see so many people on my realm not doing it, just wanted to point something out with locks. Everyone who's a pet class and 70 knows that it's sometimes a pain to have the pet running below you, catching aggro on some mobs, etc. Hunters don't have it so bad, as they can call a pet without the use of a shard, but it gets to be a pain as a lock, dismissing the pet and summoning it again when needed. This also kinda applies to hunters, because, unless they've changed it since I played my hunter, when you dismiss the pet, it pisses it off, and you have to waste food gaining the mood again.
Anyways, the thing i've noticed locks doing is actually dismissing a pet before mounting. All you need to do is take a second to mount up and fly straight up. Once you hit a certian height, the pet will despawn, and you get the shard back, as you when taking a flight path.
That way, no wasted shards, or food.
And go ahead and pipe all flames to /dev/null, as I stated, it should be common sense, but that sense isn't so common somtimes.. So just wanted to give a heads up =)
