Alright Guys/Gals. I have had enough of people not knowing how to play Alterac Valley. I know that this differ from battlegorup to battlegroup, but i still think it is a good Idea to put what i think is a good strategy into print.
When i'm writing this i have just lost 21 Alterac Valleys in a row due to 2 Causes.
1. People Do Not Know How to Play Alterac Valley.
2. People are AFKING, Leaching, Questing, Loafing Around in a Cave or In the middle.
So that is when i decided to setup this N00B guide. Yes even you N00B's should be able to understand what i say here.
So lets get started. And before you say that this is common sense, read above.
GUIDE
Before i come into my strategy it is important to give and idea on what things that are around Alterac Valley. i wil not go into detail on every aspect only the things that ensure that your team will win.
IMPORTANT DATA HORDE
Horde has 4 towers at start.
East Frostwolf Tower
West Frostwolf Tower
Ice Blood Tower
Tower Point
Each of these towers are connected to an ELITE NPC inside Frostworlf Keep. Each of these ELITE NPC's provide each and one of them with a 25% stack bonus to damage and max health health. This means that aslong as those towers are standing it will be right next to impossible for The Alliance to kill the General Drek'Thar and end the game.
If 1 of these towers are lost your tema will Lose 75 reinforcments. Thats right for every tower your team lose you will be able to die 75 times less total. If all towers goes your team will have lost 300 respawns.
The other most important thing to remember is to try and keep Captain Galvangar alive. He is located in the iceblood garison and if he dies your team will lose another 100 respawns.
In turn if your team capture any of these bunkers,
North Dun Baldar Bunker
South Dun Baldar Bunker
Icewing Bunker
Stonehearth Bunker
The Alliance will lose 75 reinforcements each and one of the ELITE NPC's connected to that bunker will vanish as well as the 25% that NPC contributed.
The last important thing before i will tell you my strategy is to keep an eye out for the graveyards.
The Horde have these 2 important graveyards.
Frostwolf Relif Hut
Frostwolf Graveyard
It' is important to keep these 2 as if you do not The Alliance will be able to spawn close to your general and even if you kill them they will still keep on comming.
Of course there are 2 graveyards that are important that you capture.
Stormpike Aid Station
Stormpike Graveyard
Not only will this give your team a better chance to kill the general but also there is not going to be a bunch of enemies that spawn ontop of you.
IMPORTANT DATA ALLIANCE
ALLIANCE has 4 bunkers at start.
North Dun Baldar Bunker
South Dun Baldar Bunker
Icewing Bunker
Stonehearth Bunker

STRATEGY
What most people do not seem to grasp is that even if you send some people of to defend it is still possible to win quick. A while back ago the players in my team genrally followed the guidelines i'm about to tell you without anyone having to tell them what to do. That time we won in 11 minutes and yes we had both Offense and Defense.
The strategy for both sides are basicly the same the only thing that changes are the names of the locations and NPC's.
I assume that you are a full team (40) players when following this strategy.
HORDE STRATEGY
Offense will have 25 players
Defense will have 15 players
DEFENSE
2 Players will go to East Frostwolf Tower
2 Players will go to West Frostwolf Tower
2 Players will go to Iceblood Tower
2 Players will go to Tower Point
These 8 players will guard their towers with their life. If you die run right back to your tower even if your only able to delay the capture for 1 second it will be worth it.
The other 7 players on defense will go to Captain Galvangar. Their job is to kill as many alliance as possible when The Alliance attack.
IF they succed to kill all of them or if any Alliance pull Captain Galvanger out of the bunker he will regain full health.
IF Captain Galvanger dies or if The Alliance cease to attack him, those 7 players should retreat back to Frostwolf Graveyard and try to keep The Alliance at bay there for aslong as possible. Also if any towers should become under attack it is wise to dispatch 2-3 extra players to that tower to ensure that The Alliance will not capture it.
IF a tower is lost then those players will join those 7 players that protected Captain Galvanger and aid in the the protection of the remaining towers, and the Graveyards mentioned above.
IF your running out on time and the choise is to save a tower or a gy save the tower at all cost. If you lose the tower it will not come back, but the graveyard you can recapture.
IF all towers are lost all 15 players task will be to ensure that the Frostwolf Relif Hut is in their control and to protect General Drek'Thar at all cost.
OFFENSE
2 Players will go to Stonehearth Bunker
2 Players will go to Icewing Bunker
3 Players with stealth will go to North Dun Baldar Bunker
3 Players with stealth will go to South Dun Baldar Bunker
The other 15 players will engage Captain Balinda Stonehearth.
As soon as Captain Balinda Stoneherth is dead 3 Players will go to Icewing Bunker and 3 Players will go to Stonehearth bunker.
The other 9 will run north and help defend/capture Stormpike Graveyard, North Dun Baldar Bunker, South Dun Baldar Bunker and Stormpike Aid Station.
As soon as Stoneherth bunker and Icewing bunker are destroyed those 10 people will join the rest of the offense up north.
Also a few off you should go into DUn Baldar and lure the NPC that is standing against the wall opposite of General Vanndar Stormpike. This is the ONLY NPC inside that can be lured out withouth pulling everyone else.
As soon as your team has atleast Stormpike Aid Station, And one of the Dun Baldar bunkers all 25 off you should go into Dun Baldar and attack General Vanndar Stormpike. Ignore any other NPC as they will vanish when the last bunker goes down if it has not done so already.
Do not under any circumstances run out of the inner room of Dun Baldar, if you do so General Vanndar Stormpike will regain full health and you you will lose valuable seconds. It is better to be killed then to run out.
As soon as you kill General Vanndar Stormpike you have won and will gain any bonus honor depending on what towers you have left and what NPC's that are still alive.
NOTE: It will help if you capture Stormpike Graveyard and Stormpike Aid Station Before you capture North Dun Baldar Bunker and South Dun Baldar Bunker. Due to the fact that The Alliance players will have to run longer way back if you kill them and in turn giving you more time.
ALLIANCE STRATEGY
Offense will have 25 players
Defense will have 15 players
DEFENSE
2 Players will go to North Dun Baldar Bunker
2 Players will go to South Dun Baldar Bunker
2 Players will go to Icewing Bunker
2 Players will go to Stonhearth Bunker

As soon as Iceblood Tower and Tower Point are destroyed those 10 people will join the rest of the offense down south.

HONOR
Besides from killing players from the opposing team you will gain bonus honor if you do the following.
Each Bunker/Tower your team destorys gives you 62.7 honor.
If your team kill Captain Galvanger/Captain Balinda Stonehearth you get 62.7 honor.
If your team kill General Drek'Thar/General Vanndar Stormpike you gain 83.6 honor.
For every tower/bunker you have left undestoryed or that is in conflict when the game ends will give you 41.8 honor.
If Captain Galvanger/Captain Balinda Stonehearth is alive when the game ends you will get 41.8 honor.
When a Wingcommander returns to your base you wil get 20.9 Honor (You normally only relase 2 on each side when you destory the towers/bunkers).

Ofcoruse i know that i both teams follow the same strategy it can come to a stalemate, but the success depends on the speed and the gear of your teams players. So to ensure vicotry always aim to get better gear and to get faster getting to your designated position.
