So many people are gunshy about buying online gold because they fear the sting of the banstick. Well my friends, fret no longer, for I have a simple strategy that I have personally tested.
If you feel like buying gold and wish to ensure your safety, go to WoW account management and request a password change several times over the course of 2 or 3 days, then buy your gold, then request a password change for your account several more times afterward.
What happens?
Well I purchased gold several times, first receiving a 3 day ban and then I received a perma-ban for "economic exploitation," but messaged Blizzard the same day as the perma-ban with this email:
"To Whom it Concerns:
Needless to say, this account banning has taken me blind-sidedly. I had received a three day suspension prior to this in what was error, as I had not even logged into the account myself for at the very minimum of a week's time, and came to find that I had been suspended for economic exploitation, but find that hard to believe as I had not been on the account myself.
I have been receiving many emails lately saying that my password has been reset, changed, or recovery attempted, and personally believe that someone is attempting to hack my account, if they haven't already succeeded, but I do not know how to protect my account from such if they somehow know my information.
I do ask the Blizzard administration to look upon my case with mercy; I have been a loyal customer for over a year now and have done nothing wrong, and am thoroughly convinced that someone is attempting to hack my account. I do believe I've been banned in the wrong, and if that be the case, I'd have a hard time coming back to World of Warcraft knowing that my long hours of hard work were unjustly for naught :-/"
They apologized, lifted the ban, and I kept the gold.
Try at your own free will, but please note that I am not personally responsible for what happens to your account.
Good luck, comrades.
