Hello, this is my first time contributing on the forum so don't be to harsh
The guide will contain a few tips on how to successfully playing a 2v2 setup with a healer and a DPS. For many this will probably be common sense, but some people who are new to arena might (at least I hope) find this useful.
1,
The basic idea with playing a healer / dps setup is putting out as much damage and manaburning abilities as possible at the same time you remain as much of your mana as possible. In the higher brackets it's very rare that a team containing eg. a druid/warrior vs. priest/rogue would ever burst someone to death, in those games it's about outlasting (making the opposite team going out of mana).
2,
A few tips on how to hopefully gain some advantages:
a, Use Crowd Control (eg. cyclone, polymorph) to put pressure on their healer or if you are going for a kill on the healer buying your own healer time to rest or put out some DPS.
b, Killing pets, this will give your healer time to rest and regain mana. Use ventrilo/ts to countdown a burst on the pet. When you reach 0 drag the pet behind a pillar and taunt it (if possible) while you use all your cooldowns etc to get it down. This is a must facing some setups.
c, Let your healer help out with the DPS, try to give your healer a 10 sec to put out some DPS. Blind the DPS and jump the healer etc. I myself play a boomkin/resto specc with my rogue friend and our key is going 1 1/2 DPS, using every single moment possible to DPS. Important note tho is that you save at least 2 K mana for eventual bursts.
d,
Get to know your teammate. Use every single moment to learn each others playstyle and maintain a lot of communication during the whole fight, tell your teammate if you cyclone or blind etc.
Hope this guide was helpful for some people. Good Luck
