This is probably very obvious, but I guess not enough for people on my server to catch on.


As many patch note junkies know, Nether Vortexes can now be bought with badges. 15 badges to be exact. Now heres the thing, these badges are nearly useless (at least if you raid and run heroics, you probably have a bankload.)

Heres what I did, I took all of my badges and turned them into Nether Vortexes from the vendor in Shatt (where you usually turn in badges) From here I bought 10 Nether Vortexes.

I sold each of these for 500g A PIECE. This is very, very easy money. It really depends on your servers economy, and may be pretty obvious but 15 heroic badges for 500g is VERY inflated.

Do it while you can!

Wouldn't work on my server, most of the ones i've see are going for like 125g ish, not worth it IMO.

badges are hardly worthless as a ton of new badge loot just came out. you can spend 500 and still not get everything. even ppl clearing BT still run kara for badges, which are bop.

Now vortexes can be used in about 15-20 recipes (most BOP mind you, so you need the recipe and profesion too) AND THATS IT. and most of those are now obsolete.

On korgath today you could get vortexes at 50G from trade chat. it takes most of a za or kara clear or 3-4 heroic dailies to get 15 badges.

Vortexes are sitting at 300g on my server. It's worth it to me, if the ones that are up actually end up selling. Thats the only problem. I don't want to waste 15 badges and end up not being able to sell the vortex as I need at least 2 sets of the new badge gear(a haste set and a crit set).

This is a regenat for like 20 recipies, that is alot imo, if they sell for like 300-500 each it's very much worth it and dont forget you get loot when you run the heroics
