Maybe Someone Here Can Help Me...

Ok so I have recently gottent to 50 (I know I'm just a little behind everyone) and I have been specced strictly fire. Now I'm thinking that I might want to go Frost....Or even a hybrid of the 2....Either way I was hoping someone else on this board knew a thing or two about mages and could help me out....

Frost is best if you want to control the mobs, slay elites, etc. etc., while fire is good for pure damage, and downing your target fast. For quests, i would reccomend Frost.

Mage A will tell you fire is the quicker to quest, Mage B will say it's frost. I've always been a frost fan (AoE grinding ftw) - but to be honest, the difference is rather slim.

Once you hit 70 though, a mage's spec becomes more clear cut. Generally, (use the term loosely), you'll wanna go fire for instancing/raiding and Frost for PvP.

A 17/0/44 spec is the cookie-cutter for PvP (or it was, not sure about what 2.3.2 has done to it)
