Ok warlock is about the only class I haven't ran to high level, recently started working on it again, Affliction seems really nasty and PVP fun, what advice would you give? Demonolgy lets you get the felguard and infernal.. Tempting.

I've played a Warlock back in the days when they were free HKs... now... they're pwn machines.
If you can give me more details on what you're aiming to do... such as Instancing/Raiding/BG PvP/Arena PvP, I can give you my opinions on what's some great fun specs are...
Affliction is great for almost everything except competitive arena depending on your partners, but the downfall is, it doesn't give you enough survivability against decent players. They'll cut through you real fast.
For leveling? Go for Demonology or Affliction, it doesn't really matter which as they both give very little downtime, it's up to your playstyle, whether you want to heavily rely on your pet to assist with leveling or whether you prefer to use drains and heavy dots as opposed to nuking with shadowbolts.
Talents wise, regardless of your spec it's pretty much essential to pick up 5/5 Improved Corruption, since Corruption is a core spell for all Warlocks and 5/5 Improved makes it an *instant cast*.
Demonology is great because it gives you high survivability, you get stamina increases and soul link among other things that'll make you hard to bring down which is nice if you're planning on doing some pvp in-between leveling.
Where Demonology has survivability, you gain mobility with Affliction; two extra Dots and Curse of Exhaustion make Affliction awesome for dotting up and kiting (which obviously also provides great pvp viability).
Both of these are good talent specs for leveling and are Affliction or Demonology respectively:
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
This one is an Affliction build, ideally you want to get all 41 points in Affliction first (obviously) and head down to Dark Pact as soon as possible because it makes Drain Tanking a lot easier due to you being able to drain mana off your pet when you need it.
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
This is more of a grinding build for Demonology Warlocks, the only problem with being Demonology is it takes a while for you to get the awesome talents, so it might be worth giving this a try when you're 50+ but until then spec affliction.
Hope that helps.
ruin is the best warlock talent
the new patch smacked locks though but there still over powered in afflic
40/21/0 is the way to go for raiding shadow damage+15% FTW
SM/Ruin (SM = Shadow Mastery) is a good spec, Demo really isn't viable when you get into end game raids as your damage suffers a lot (Or at least mine seems to)
This is my raid spec Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
and it works great for me, I'm always top damage in raids.
I leveled Affliction until 50, changed to Demo because the fel guard makes solo play so much easier, and than changed back to affl when i hit 70 for raids. The only problem with affliction is the lack of burst damage. You'll do massive damage over time if you have good dot rotation and control, but you cant do massive amounts of damage with your fist cast.
Heres my SM/Ruin build: Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
I don't use that very much anymore because I love my Affl spec
For PvP I'd suggest a SL/SL build.
This makes you have Soullink for suviveability and Siphon Life as an extra Dot. Also works great in Arena.
Though I have to say running around with a felguard or hoping for Unstable Affliction to crit is a tad more fun.
Here's an example for an SL/SL build:
