depends how you play and what you like and how

priest shields up, tosses dots, and sometimes heals itself to level

mage kills it before it touches ya via kiting and snares

warlock has the pet get aggro and you dot em up and wait till it dies.

personally I love priests lategame as disc for pvp, holy healing pve because its fun to me.

highest dps i would have to say would be a warlock because you use dots, recover mana, and use the dots again, essentially using less mana then firing arcane bolts at things got high damage, its better for boss fights imo.

+ its harder on my server to find a lock then a mage, but i dont know what your server is like.

I see a mage as more of a pvp class, id go lock

locks rule! they can solo mr. weavil, but not mages/priests. so if you are planning to farm solo something go for lock for more surviveability

I have a level 80 warlock, and while they are extraordinarily epic, as a first start for dps they are a bit tough to pick up. At 80 you will probably need to do a bit of research to tweak your spec and gear just right. As for as leveling goes, it is quite easy if you go for Affliction with a bit of Demonology, put some points in Siphon Life and Soul Link. DoT up a bunch of targets and laugh as they die and give you health. DoT, run, DoT, run etc. As far as versatility goes for locks, you are looking at an extraordinarily strong PvP class in all 3 specs (I PvP with affliction myself). Priests would be easy to level using the LFG system provided you spec healer. And mages are just generally easy all around.

Lots of fun/Leet facerollness (I think I'm a bit biased): Warlock
    Versatility and quick queues: Priest
Easy w/ good strong dps: Mage
Backups? We don't *NEED* no steenking baX%^~,VbKx NO CARRIER

If you want fun versitile overall good character go with the mage, It can beat any class if you know how to play it proper, it's only real weakness is the warlock, but even theycan be beaten if your good enough.
    Warlock is boring
    Priest is boring

Level as Frost, pvp as Frost, PvE as arcane.

How do you figure mage is an easier character then wlock?
Druid/Wlock arena any tard can manage 2k rating w/o any problems.
A mage however needs to know how to play, less room for error.
    MAGE = LEETNESS.

Priest - not the best for starting levelling
    Mage - choose this
Warlock - bind all your keys to random dots and fear, then smash your face on the keyboard yelling "I AM A GAMING GOD" or "ADSJKHFAKHBNFSJDNFJKASND", depending on whether or not you're retarded.

    Personally, I'd say mage.

Priests are really difficult to level for quite some time because they tend to lack DPS and mana efficiency at early levels. I am in the process of lvling one disc and I love it, but it's been the slowest class I've leveled.

Mages are an extremely easy class to level, but they go through gaps of where they don't get upgrades to their main spell for quite some time. I would suggest going Frost if you do go this, although many people are now starting to go Arcane. You can look into that if you want; I guess I'm more traditional :P. Free water and food also comes in handy.

Warlocks are also very easy to level. Their pets, especially being demo spec, do some nice damage and can take a beating. They do lots of damage and fears help out when soloing. They can also heal themselves in combat, or replenish themselves in combat.

Not at all Priest aren't that slow at leveling it's took me 10days to get mine from 1-80, I'm Specced Disc to leveled in Shadow until i was level 50 or something and i never really had any mana problem although i did have Heirloom gear.
    Anyway!
Warlock no problems at all with mana hell easy to level
Priest easy to level if you enjoy it.
Mage AWESOME! DPS and Easy to level

The choice is yours really, Pick well!

I will have to agree with some of the other posters, priests at lower levels can be really difficult to level, and sometimes tend to run out of mana and die rather easily. Mages have the ability to make their own food and water which is a plug and allows them to go much longer and not have to resupply.

Locks are probably the best for leveling for the fact that you can tank with a pet and kill mobs while taking no damage and then mana tap then drain life and be back to step 1 again mob after mob. However i must say that leveling a lock can be very boring and the same thing over and over gets old fast.

I would say if your looking for something fun then try out the mage, polymorph, blink, nova, and all of the other spells they got make them interesting and not as boring to level. Priest would also be good but may not top the dps charts like a warlock or mage would when raiding at 80, but they do have the option to also heal which is a plus.

    Personally i love Rogues!
