You do also need the password of the Account Name.
Hey guys, so I got scammed a few years ago and looked up my guy to find that its a level 80. Being OO of it, I have the account name, name on account, contact info, secret question and answer, even the email of the guy who has it now. Next step is recovering it... easy enough right? Well, I was thinking, what if i recover and because he also has a good amount of the info on the account he recalls it then maybe deletes the character out of rage or something. Is there anyway to solidify that he couldn't get back ahold of my account, apart from purchasing a new wotlk account? Thanks.
You do also need the password of the Account Name.
No You don't Hephaestus, you can just change all the information, email, and even get the account password by using the Account User/Pass/Email thing on the Blizzard site.
If you want to Safe Proof it, buy a Blizzard Authenticator.
Yes, if I was (were?) You, I would definately recall the account. And of course to feel safe, just put on the goddamned authenticator.
Cheers.

I'm not sure of this but,
You can call Blizzard Straight up and tell them you want to Change EVERYTHING. Including your SQA.
Explain to them that you feel like someone is trying to hack, for the safety of the account you feel it's important for you to change all of your private information.
Few things could happen, If the other person knows your SQA and/or CD- Key and also has information on the accounts name and Account's holder's name they can recover it by Phone without have the need for the email address as so many of you have addressed that.
That is why it's important to change everything on your account so that even if you friends decides to call them and try to recall it, he won't be able to because all the information will be changed.
If any confusion what so ever fall upon Blizzard they will send you an email with a form to feel out and telling you that you will have to send in an ID and fax them the Form. Fairly simple if you know everything about your account. Besides, I think only the person that has his email address on the WoW account will receive the latter. So if you recover it safely you don't even have to worry about that part
Best of luck to you!
And I really hope you get your account back
thanks a lot guys im about to call em up
Few advices when you call.
It helps to be really nice and to respect the person you are talking to,
Meaning do not argue,
Some of the time they actually will help you if they see you are nice and really want it.
Best of luck! and Be careful![]()
Well if the person calls Blizzard etc it'll probably come out like, " Why do you both have access to the account ? " You'll be like, "... because I sold it to him? " BAN.
No because you don't have to say that you SOLD the account.
There are so many way to approach this situation.
You can simple just say you were hacked and you do not know how he got the information, in fact tell them you were surprised because people been saying that blizzard was very secure and safe account keeping.
Also you can simply say you were scammed, Telling them that you have received email from blizzard saying they "I/you" had to verify the account. Turn out to be fake site and your information spread. ( Phisher site )
Saying you sold the account will defiantly ban your account and you will receive no help from blizzard what so ever due to the fact that they don't support selling/trade or any of that business.
Best of Luck to you and my smart choice while scamming!![]()
I don't think Blizzard is THAT Sympathetic :P
Scammed - Keyloggers - It's Reasonable..
- Someone was offering Free Gold / PLing - Your Fault for Believing him/her.
- PHiser - It's Reasonable.. But Doesn't Blizzard have these Forums that Prevent you from getting scammed?
No, You simple turns the tables on Blizzard.
You say one day you log in and the other you see yourself having different password.
Express your thoughts in a nice and gently way on how Security Of Blizzard WoW accounts is responsible for this and you did no such thing As Trade/Sold/Scam Anything like that. In fact don't even mention all that.
It's worth a shot,
Don't ever give up! EVER![]()
