You won a mount scam

This scam is not a repost but has the same essence of another scam i have seen. If anybody knows who posted the other scam please leave a link so i can give them proper credit.


This scam can be used to make gold by striping the characters or if you have even less of a heart you can steal the account.

This scam has a very high banrate i suggest you do it with a trial version seeing as all you need is the emote command and the ability to run.

What you are going to want to do is start a wow trial version. you can start one here

Now you are going to want to start a more official looking email such as [email protected] you can make one of these accounts here mail.com - the best personalized free web-based e-mail or you can use the other ways of making blizz accounts found on this site.

Now that you have all that stuff done go make a character with a name such as Congrats or Greetings (just some sort of welcoming so that people think that its a notification and not a player sending them messages.

This is the hardest part. You need to create a macro that sounds friendly and legit.
i like to use this one with my characters that names are Congrats /e Congrats you have just won the daily Dark Moon Fair drawing. Today's prize is the Swimming turtle mount. To redeem your prize please send an email with your characters name and realm to (your email address).


This will automatically get you a ton of emails because you haven't asked for any personal information YET. Once you get an email reply to it by saying that in order for them to receive their prize they must first confirm that they are the original owner.

Make them send you all their information. I have a couple emails i send but if i gave them away how would you guys learn. When asking for their information alot of people will not reply or will send you emails claiming that they are the Feds or that they are going to call them just ignore them or make fun of them for being such a noob.

Most of the people that will send you their information are low levels like level 5 cause they see all the people riding mounts and they want one. I have had a couple lvl 70's send me their information but i usually just took all thier money because they usually find a way to get thier account back.

I have used this scam on a trial version and i just got banned. It is the second day i have been doing this so unless you dont care about the account use a trial

lol i just did this again and left my guy in SW with my auto clicker clicking every 5 minutes for about 30 minutes and got 3 emails and 1 of them was a reply to an earlier email i sent out and it was a lvl 38 giving me his account info.

I dont see, how you can manage to do this with a trail account, since they cant even whisper to players that does not have them on their freinds list?

This isn't a bad scam, there just need to be some minor adjustments to it.
Instead of writing 'mount' I would say something else because this scam is more for noobs to fall for as smart people will just do /who your name and see if you really are a player. Not a bad concept though.

you dont need to wisper anyone you just use an emote which everyone can see but it looks like its a message from the console

I thought alot of people would do this to but i have been doing this for 2 days and only had 1 person say "lol" and another person say nice name. I have gotten 21 emails that i replied to and am waiting for a responce and have gotten a account with a lvl 5 and a account with 4 lvl 30-50 and also had a stupid lvl 70 who im pretty sure will send me his info
