Might be a repost, or it just might be similar. Sorry if it is.
The Almost-Flawless Scam.
Requirements: Your own personal geared 70 (or scammed), Ability to talk good English, Ability to talk on the phone/vent (optional), TWO of your own personal emails.
If you do not have your own account, then keep reading. Chances are you won't go through with the scam because you must show in-game to earn trust, but you might have luck on your side.
Let me explain what the scam will contain:
Email Scam (Method where you send in two confirmation emails from Blizzard to change email)
This is simply just to state the steps on how to perform the scam. I hope this will help people be successful in their scams.
1. First, go to markeedragon.com or any other trade site you know of and post a thread about your 70 character that you are trading. Make sure to make the post long and have it sound legit.
2. Next, wait on aim/msn/yahoo whatever for your victim to IM you.
3. Once he does, make the conversation long. Ask him questions, etc, "Why do you want to trade?" things like that. Ask him for his armory, then ask if he can show in game. If he can't then go to the next guy.
4. Once you have both showed in game and are interested in each others characters, here is where the scam begins.
5. Tell him to give you about 5 minutes to get things settled for the trade.
1). Open up your email address associated with your account.
2). Open up worldofwarcraft.com account management page.
3). Open up another worldofwarcraft.com with the password retrieval page.
6. IM him again and ask if he's ready. He should say yes.
7. He should ask you how you are going to trade your way. Tell him something similar to this:
You: Here's how we'll do it:
You: 1. Exchange account names and verify using the password retrieval method.
You: 2. Exchange Phone Numbers & Full Names on the account.
You: 3. Exchange emails, change emails, confirm emails, then verify.
You: 4. Exchange the SQA
You: 5. Recall each others accounts to verify that everything is correct.
Him: Sounds good!
8. Now give him your account name or a trial account name. He should then be able to verify it and the same to you.
9. Next give him your FAKE phone number and FAKE name.
BE SURE TO ALWAYS MAKE THE FIRST MOVE.
10. Exchange email addresses. Here's where it gets a little bit tricky, but not so much that you can't do it.
1) Give him your email address, he should give his to yours.
2) Go to your account management page and go to change email
3) Put in your OTHER PERSONAL email address and send the confirmation email.
4) Press the back button, now put in HIS EMAIL and send the confirmation.
5) Go to your email, you should have 2 confirmation emails.
6) CONFIRM HIS EMAIL FIRST, THEN CONFIRM YOURS.
7) Go back to the IM and tell him that you already confirmed. He should then confirm his and you should soon get an email from Blizzard saying that he did.
11. After steps 8-10 are done, tell him that you both will copy & paste the SQA on 3. Copy your SQA, and count to 3. On 3, wait till it shows hes typing and then paste it on.
12. DO NOT BLOCK HIM YET. Open up your password retrieval page and enter his info in there. It should work. If it doesn't then IM him telling him it doesn't work. He should say that yours doesn't either. Tell him that you have an alternate SQA and that you should do the 1-2-3 thing again. If it doesn't work the second time keep demanding it. If he blocks you then he was a scammer.
13. If all goes well then you should have recieved and email recieving the generated password to his account. (: You now scammed your own account. Enjoy!
IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN ACCOUNT:
Try to avoid meeting in game. Tell him that your server is full and that he can't make a new character. If that doesn't work and he gets suspicous then just block him and move on. This scam was meant to look like an actual trade.

As a noob I find this complicated.
But that's pretty much because I've never scammed anyone :/
wow, this looks like a really good scam, i never thought about doing the confirmation e-mail like that

But yeah, we all know the ArcEmu team is pretty much a farce... unfortunately, it's a farce with a gazillion users. - Hellgawd
Remember to +Rep People who have helped you!
ya but they will just recall their account
nice trick, sending out 2 confirmation emails, never seen it before
if you avoid original owners you should get accounts easily

Science flies you to the moon, religion flies you into buildings. :eh:
a big flaw i see in this scam is, most people won't trade right away with some guy doing his first post on a trading website. but then again, even with a middleman this might work, you'll only have to create a new account every time or something, and hope they didn't flag your 70's name.
