This may be rather obvious to people who have played on an RP server for awhile, but this has worked for me, time and time again, and it also stands the test of time in human psychology.
First, you're going to select an RP server, if you already aren't on one
You're going to create a character, but here's the catch; if you're used to Lolwut ROFL and Lols of PvP and Normal Servers:
-RPers on RP servers respect and trust people with good grammar and spelling
-They are suckers for sobstories
And sympathy shall be the architect of our newfound wealth:
1. Make a character, preferabbly female, (Night Elves, Humans, and Draenei work really well, Horde tends to be less sympathetic)
2. Go "In Character" in other words, eliminate your persona and become that of your new toon.
3. Walk into some populated place like Stormwind
4. Sit down in an inn, and if you haven't already thought of a sob story for your character's past, think of one now.
Here's an example which you are free to use:
-You are a poor human mage who has lost her mother to a terrible travelling plague, and need money to support yourself (This works alot, it's quite amazing)
You may just be able to rack up a few hundred gold in a few weeks (it's worked for me, and you might even consider rolling a main on this scammed server, and using your "Sympathy" Alt to collect money.)
Character tips:
Sadly, these are the features that appeal to people (Study Wise)
1. Darker Shades of Hair (Black, Brown, whatnot)
2. Light Shades of Skin
3. Blue or Green Eyes
These (tend to be) the characteristics that humans subconsciously associate with truthful people (Ask the scientists)
Good Luck,
and Happy RP-nooblet Farming
