uh, most people arent this gullible.
I love change so much opportuntiy to aquire some easy gold.
the expansion means major change and major excitement both add up to dropped defences and a sense of happiness and joy amoungst our customers.
just after TBC is released this baby is going to work - or some variation on it
Write a letter something along the lines of this
Dear .......
congratulations you have survived the challenges of azeroth over many months unscathed and earned the repect of the alliance.
Go now hero through the Dark hole to the new lands beyond and carry the battle to our enemies beyond etc etc
Azerothian gold will be of no use to you in the lands you venture to but i offer you a one time opportunity to exchange some of your gold for 3 times its value in Outand gold to get your campaign off to a good staert etc etc
You are essentially trying to get them to believe that if they cod you say 500g they get 1500 outland gold back but this can only be done once
Some bugger is bound to fall for it and send that cod back to you or send you the gold if you used a straight forward mail
Other versins of this letter could be based arounf jewelcrafting - offering a one off opportunity to receive all the items required to train jewelcrafting to 300 for a one off payment of 100g lets say etc etc
uh, most people arent this gullible.
One quote is all that is needed here
"Theres a sucker born every minute"

something like that dont work on my server... not many noobs![]()
Look - good scams are not perfect i.e ofc you can think of many reasons why people will not fall for this - thats's not the point.
The fact is, someone will fall for it becasue there are people out there that trust these sorts of mailings.
To actually say NOBODY on your server will fall for this is complete and utter bollocks - how do you know ? Assuming things will or wont work based on your own opinion is irrelevant. You do not know everyperson on your server and you do not know how they will behave - to suggest you do is foolish - and more to the point it will cost you gold if you only do scams you think will work.
People are varied and ime any vaguely plausible story can make you gold from a percentage of the playing population.
After all WOW is a fantasy game, or do you really believe in elves, gnomes and dwarves ?
incidently, notice that you must not use names of actual in game npcs, and you must do as much as you can to avoid referring to actual places in the game etc.
It is a bit like claiming to be a GM - do it and it is an instant rule infringement. If you use phrases or similar words to actual npcs or places - you can stay the right side of rules.
