Ok, this scam is a very easy scam. Allthough there is a catch in this scam, you need to "steal" the gamecard... in the scam way
Complitation of the scam:
Buy a gamecard.
Walk outside and clean the gamecard cover (plastic, commercial ads and the gamecard itself)
Run inside and tell him that it was no gamecard inside nor plastic seal on it, tell him it have been used or whatever.
He will excuse himself and give you a new card, and you got 2 cards.
Ok what you need is:
Money enough to buy 1x 60day gamecard
A small store.
A victim who doesnt have a clue about wow/games (a young paris hilton, or a old granny is best ^^)
First a little story: When I went to my local store (its a small store, with just some games inside) I bought 1x gamecard, and went home... Suddenly I noticed that the gamecard cover didnt have the protecting plastic-seal. I opened the game, and inside there was no gamecard...
So I thought that the dude in the store had made a simple mistake, so I went back an half hour later and told him that there was no gamecard inside nor was there a seal plastic thing on the cover, so i told him that this was probably a copy cover of the gamecard.
He excused himself (like everything was his fault) and brought me a brand new gamecard. i walked home and was satisfied, then I started thinking....
A more specified explanation:
Do like I did, but in a different way.
Find a small local store where they sell gamecards. Look if the salesman is a either a macho-nonunderstanding training freak, or a copy of paris hilton (which dont understand a thing bout games) or a old man/woman who also doesnt understand anything bout pc/games.
Bring a gamecard-cover (the display box) to the salesman (In most stores they got their real games locked up in a secured closet or something outaway from the customers. cuz of stealing and shiet) He will take the empty gamecard cover and bring you a fresh new gamecard cover (with and gamecard innit, and with plastic seal around) and give you. You will pay him and walk outside with the gamecard in ur hand.
When you step outside, get into ur car (or out of sight from the store, or even wait 30min till u get home. more realistic) and rip of the plastic seal, open the game card cover and take out the actual gamecard + the commercial pieces inside (also the gluethingy behind the actual gamecard).
So now the gamecard-cover will be clean for everything that should have been inside.
Run (till u get rly breathless/wheezy), and explain that you opened the cover and there was no card inside etc. Tell him that this is probably just a display box.
Now he will excuse himself and get a new card for you (and yes you got the other card you bought for 5min ago) = scammD
And YES this works like fire on a candle! Tested and confirmed.
Sorry for the bad language, just ask if you didnt get it.

if this goes wrong your stuffed badly oo
Doesn't blizzard make it so the serial number on the box of the gamecard match up with the number on the actual gamecard? I may be wrong but I THINK that is how they do it.
If they do and realize that the box was empty they will just lock the gamecard, and your account if you've already put it in, until you put a REAL GC on it or pay them in some way.
But I may be wrong as i don't really now to much about how blizzard does that crap.
The question is, who the heck would check their game card just as they bought it? I for one do not open my cover until I'm home at the PC...
My mother's boyfriend works at the electronics at Wal mart. I can just buy a gamecard there, open it while he's at my house, and yell "What the ****! This thing is already opened!"
Then, we'll see.
lol this happened to me once.
I got a display box... XD
this works... but the story is too long and boring.. just jack the card and use it.. its what i do and have been playing wow since day 1 for free.. they dont get activated at register unlike xbox cards
Yup it works, but it may work better if you wait a half hour before u run back and tell'em it was a display box. and @ [xRyan123] why would the store try to block the gamecard when they dont even know how it works + you tell the store that it was prolly a display box
This can get you screwed IRL
was just thinking about this earlier when i was at the mall.
i was also thinking you can get entire account using this, buy a battle-box that comes with vanilla+tbc, copy down the codes. then take it back and say your story for why you need to exchange it. xchange it for WotLK and come back the next day and refund WotLK for your money back. would work best at a walmart were the checkout chicks dont understand the conception of unique codes.
you know what, that actually might work. Go buy tbc or wotlk take the serial code and then take it back and say that you wanth to buy the game not the expansion. I remember back in the days when i dint even know what an expansion was i buyed a battlefield expansion instead of the game, i took it back saying it wouldnt install and they told me it was an expansion. Anyway they exchanged me the game for the battlefield non expansion
Anyway you could be getting 2 buying just one![]()
