Alpha invites are tied to your Battle.net account. Do not be fooled by anybody offering Alpha codes.

You can buy alpha-codes, just not for this testing phase.Many were given out at the PAX.

You'll need to correct that to beta* - NOT alpha.

This is no longer relevant, as keys are being given out regularly by websites such as mmorpg.com, ign, and wowhead in giveaways and contests. Those codes have to be claimed by entering them into your battle.net account by clicking enter game key. What the OP said was true when it was posted, but it is no longer true now that Beta is up and running.
