This post can be considered help, advice and tips for those who don't already know about the tips I'm giving, and others may already know and consider it common sense. Either way, here goes nothing
While Talking
1. Broken english + lots of mispelled words = bad. Let's a potential victim know your either young or chinese (take no offense asians) and generally speaking, legit players think younger people and asians are out to scam them.
2. Use smileys. They get the victim to feel more comfortable with you while chatting on aim / msn, increasing the chance of them falling for your scam.
3. Use anecdotes, phrases, etc. Don't just talk about the account and it's details. If he mentions he has to quit WoW because he's going to school, ask him what school, and then you can add on and be like oh wow, my dad graduated there with a doctorates or w/e. Makes the victim feel more comfortable, getting relaxed because he isn't focusing on the safety of his acocunt. Anecdotes really help the victim feel relaxed / comfortable.
4. DO NOT RUSH THINGS. This is vital. The ideal scam will take a long time. You want the victim to feel comfortable around you feel like he is invunerable to scams, because he is not even dreaming that you would scam him. When people are rushed they get ancy and nervous, and tend to think more.
Your AIM / MSN.
Make it look friendly. Add a buddy icon, and edit your profile. Makes you look like a real person, and not some scammer who just made a quick screenname to scam on . People think that actual people with actual lifes outside of Trading / Buying / Selling don't focus on scamming, atleast they involuntarily feel like that. A friendly screenname is a good screenname to scam on. Also make sure your screenname isn't something retarded such as MMOwnedCharley or wowtrade2009. (Anything involving buying/selling/trading is basically a No, due to so many impersonators of buying / selling companies, and fake renters.)
Talking on the Phone
If you are forced to talk on the phone, never sound jumpy. Stay relaxed and talk with a steady tone because they are looking for these little details and **** ups. If they can sense you are nervous they will become cautious or nervous about buying or selling, voluntarily or involuntarily.
will edit with more in a little bit.
