How Many Chances?

I just attempted my first COD scam today, and though it hasn't been completed yet (the person has yet to check their mail) I'm a little nervous. My friend, who has scammed many people and has yet to be caught, told me that I have nothing to worry about, but after reading around here I'm a little concerned. I just started my character on this server (now my main server) and I don't really want to restart the character if I get banned. If I get caught, will I get a second chance? Is the first offense permabannable? Thanks for any help.

EDIT: I'm getting more and more paranoid the more I read...I didn't do it with an alt or anything, I guess my friend just got really lucky every time he did it. I haven't ever had warnings on this account...

You will get a second chance.

Thats if the player reports you. If the player doesn't which they probably wont you have nothing to worry about. Whoever receives the mail will probably just shrug it off but if they accept it they might not realise the gold was gone untill to late.

Thank God. I already went out to get a card for a new account, and my buddy got a new account too. We're somewhat of a team (I showed him how awesome I was by hacking all of his 5 70s late at night) split everything 50/50 so I made it clear if my account was banned scamming then he would have to buy me a new one and level it up to the previous level.

Why is this considered a "dead" scam on WoW.com? And also, what are the chances that the scam works?

Half the stuff you read is because someone was dumb and careless. if u scam "smart" you will be pretty much home free.

Well, I probably was pretty dumb/careless. I used my main account...from now on I shall scam from an alt?

Also, will I find out if the person rejects my COD? I'd like to get that 20g down payment back
