    Intermediate Scamming Techniques

    Intermediate Scamming Techniques
    Hello there,

Just dropping in to make an attempt at contributing to the board for you guys. I'd figure i'd offer you some more advanced scamming techniques that are to be used to scammers who have already gotten the basic hang of things and are comfortable with the routine. I'm posting this not for replies in the nature of "OMG THIS IS SO AWESOME", or "GREAT IDEA", but i'm hoping that a few of you will at least gain some knowledge. ("Ahh, Interesting tactic, i'll have to try that one next scam"). I'm hoping this gets interpreted as at least some form of help rather than being thought of as "common sense."

The Following tactics are based on Nolixz's and Hasselhoff's beginner scam guides.

Intermediate Scamming Techniques (In Order from Process to Completion:

    1) Depending on the website/forum that you are picking your target from, be sure to fully examine his topic/tradeAD. If you are an intermediate scammer, you should be able to judge if the target knows his way around Blizzard's account policies. Why bother picking someone who does? It's an INSTANT recall.

    2) After fully examining the targets topic/tradeAD, based on his wording and attitude, you should be able to make a fairly accurate prediction on his personality type. Judging from that, you can then choose how to approach him, which brings us to number 3.

    3) Based on his personality type and his attitude toward trading (weak, strong, giving, defensive, ignorant, stubborn, ect), you have to play a different role (which MAY need to be changed later on during conversing). As you get rejected from hard-headed traders over and over, you will start to see the majority follow patterns in what show their weaknesses. Multiple role types may need to be played to progress the scam.

    4) Example ROLE types: Based on your judgment in your targets character, you may have to choose a certain role (that will counter your target) to play for your best chance at success. "The Knowledgeable Nice guy" = You can play as a very knowledgeable guy who plays off to be very smart, knows his way around the system and game, and seems to be really mature. And uses close to perfect punctuation. "The Stubborn Badass" = Playing the role of a mature and impatient ,yet smart, trader who wants to get straight to business. "The NOOB" = Playing the role of someone who is younger and has never traded before, using constant slang, "urs" "us" "omgz" "wut?" and pretends to not know anything about WoW accounts. Many more Roles! Or come up with your own Role strategy.

    5) Take different approaches according to what role you are playing. MAKE THE TARGET FEEL COMFORTABLE AT ALL COSTS! Throw out random jokes, talk about the super bowl it doesn't, talk about RL, throw in a random joke. Anything to make the target feel "haha this guy is cool, he wouldn't scam me."

    6) Once you earn the targets "trust," it's very important to keep it. Don't become impatient all of the sudden, or too aggressive, or too slow. You don't want the target thinking any questionable thoughts.

    7) Be QUICK but sincere with the common "Speedbumps" that are thrown at you. ("Can I see in game?") ("Can you post on my thread?) ("Can we talk on vent?"): You may have these approaches already covered. But they can be different in times. For example in certain situations you may want to use "Ah i'd show ya the toon but the account expired a few days ago", rather than "I'd have to wait till I got home from work in about 5-6 hours to show ya" OR vice versa depending on the situation.

Always be giving with what you have. Offer to give your contact information first, or to accept his. If conflicts occur, always offer the fact that you understand if he wants to take time to think about it. THESE are the SIMPLE things that make the target think twice and say "Hey, this guy wouldn't scam me."

Techniques I like to use (Detail) THAT WORK:

    Target
: well, I'd really like to see in game, just so that i know you have the char
    You: hmmmm (pause 10-15sec)
You: haha I guess I could take a screenshot of the account page showing the rogue on there if youd like, if that helps
You: I would need one too if you don't mind
    Target: yeah, that could work

    ****************

You: so what do you think of the lock?
    Target: hes awesome
You: cool cool, give me a min if you don't mind, still examining your rogues armory (WORKS GOOD)
    Target: ahh, np (wait 2-3mins)
You: I think im liking this rogue
    Target: really? good to hear
You: yepyep so what do you think of this trade so far?
    Target: i like it!
You: awesome awesome, so do you think we are a go for launch? ( humor) (ps. dont use that, thats my line! haha jk)
    Target
    : yep, I like this
You: ok, how do we do this then? (offering, giving)
    You
: exchange contact info first? I guess?
    Target: ya sure

    ****************

Target: can you post on my thread please, so I can see your rep?
You: ahh, I just started trading yesterday man, afraid i've never even used these sites before....does this site require rep to trade? (I like to call that "proving innocence")
    Target
: aah, no it doesnt....it should be ok. (decent chance he'll feel bad, and you will get that response)

    ****************

Well those are a few example detail techniques that I like to use. REMEMBER, also always have your weapons locked and loaded. And when I say weapons, I mean. Trial account (for email purposes), Fake email spoofer, Kaizou!, WoW armory details, ect. And when using Kaizou, don't forget to use the images from the armory:

    AND

These are just some of the techniques that can be used to reach success in your scam. If you can master the techniques on this page, it will open up a door with a bunch of whole new ideas that you can come up with. You'll soon become more fluent in the "battle plans" and know how/when/where to adjust your strategy when needed. This WILL increase your chance of success by ALOT.

Well, this is the first draft of this topic. Like I said, this isn't the holy grail of scamming information. But i'm hoping at least some of you will gain some extra firepower to use out there on the field. Potential help is better than no help! Thanks guys.
