Scamming Guild Banks is 100% Legal

Well i saw a Thread the other regarding a method of stealing from other guild banks, but people claimed that they have previously been banned for this. The Method was this:

[I]1) Find a target guild and make a character named similar to an officer of that guild but with the word "Bank" at the end, or something similar.

2) Ask another officer in that guild to "invite your alt to the guild so that you can donate a few items". This doesnt work often, but has worked a few times and when it does, you gt a bit payoff.

3) Now state that you cant see the guildbank to put in some items. At this point you will usually be given a status in which you can steel from the bank.

4) take what you want and leave. Now at this point it was suggested that you delete and remake that character, hit a few mobs, etc.

Aparently, it turns out that this is legal... Well the GMs think so




After discovering this, i decided that i should get a second opinion just incase i had witnessed a lazy GM at work. I even stated in this next occassion that i was going to go and steal from guild banks after he had stated it was fine to do so:

everything is not always as it seems.. heh, I can say "Dude trust me I am not scamming" when I am scamming a guy and wouldn't you know it the next minute I have his account.

If you're a Guild master you can do this.
If you pretend to be an officer's bank account you get banned.
Only if you're the leader of a guild that has these items , gold
on it you can do such robbing's , else , YOU CAN'T !,
i lost my 70 mage true this , so i suggest you people to
don't do this ...

Because, it wasn't a scamming method. Wich is why it didn't belong in the scamming section
