Send keyloggers in a picture?

I've been e-mail scamming for a few days, and one of the people has been sort of...unfittingly friendly. He sent me a picture (287kb) and says that it's an account's information...can I infect my picture by opening a picture? It's in .JPG format.

I would recommend not opening it, ALOT can be hidden in .jpg's.

Here's what I recommend.

Go to the library or just some other computer and open it. Immediately after, scan the computer for any viruses, and if you don't have a spyware scanner, download a spyware scanner and scan for spyware, too.

Why would somebody send you a picture with his account information?

He probably realized you wanted to scam him and wants to give you a nice trojan.

Ad-Aware is a free spyware scanner, i belive

JPG Shells are already 4 years old and if you keep your Windows up-to-date from time to time their is no chance... he probably tried to scare you
