NOTE: For Windows! Havent tested nor care to try with Mac.
First off, I will start with the story to how I found this out.
My friend was over and he hadn't been on for a LONG time, so he bought a new gamecard. My mom let me use her laptop to play WoW while he played it on the computer I am typing this on. The two patches would have taken an estimated 14 HOURS. Now I sure as hell wasn't going to wait that long. So I tryed storage sites to put the WoW folder on, but none of the sites ever completed it, even though they offered aboyut 10GBs. SO I tryed one last option that thankfully worked....the iPod.
So if you have the Video iPod, 30GB and 60GB, you can move WoW faster and easier. To start plug your iPod in with your USB cable. Two or more things may pop up. Close everything except for the window which shows the folders like NOTES, etc.
{If it didn't show up scroll to bottom}
Now, Keep that up, minimize if you like, and open: MyComputer\Hardrive\ProgramFiles. (May not be exact directory like namewise, but something like this.) Now highlight your WoW Folder. Drag and drop it into that iPod window. Now it will take around 15minutes to 1hour. Now, disconnect your iPod. GO to any computer you wish and get that iPod window to come up again. Go to my Computer, Hard Drive, Prograqm files. And Drag the WoW folder from the iPod to Program Files. COMPLETE.
NOW TO PLAY, go to your WoW folder on new ocmputer, drag the WoW.exe.
Do not ues the launcher as it will not work for some reason. Now I know the launcher may have some benifits, but this cuts the time drastically, and you can always have a security system.
there you go, now since this is in general, I know only about 5 people will view this and maybe 1 reply, but you never know if you may need this.
IF THE WINDOW DID NOT SHOW UP, FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
1. Open My Computer
2. Open your iPod, which for me is the J Drive, mom's is I, whatever doesnt matter.
3. COMPLETE, now go finish those steps!
