First GM sighting in 12 years
Was playing battle for Gilneas sneaking around the mines on my rogue.
Suddenly noticed a dwarf appear from nowhere wearing unusual robes. I just had time to clock
the name "GM Culkwater" and he disappeared.
Any one experience anything like this.
Now, if I were paranoid, which I am, then I'd assume the GM was stalking me because they
think I'm up to something. Which I usually am (though I wasn't at that particular time).
On the other hand maybe he was there for some completely random reason and I'm just being
paranoid and/or narcissistic. But why would a GM just show up in a bg like that?
Also I'm not sure why he appeared and then disappeared. Did he turn off his invisibility by mistake
or something?

Must have been accidental, because they are not 'allowed' to show themselves in game, only via the text.
So the fact that he appeared and disappeared meant that...
1) He was stalking you
2) You have every right to be paranoid
3) You were probably being flagged as a baddie
4) You hate your mother
5) Your cheap tricks in the past have made you a GM Target...
6) The GM's have a [tele Advanta command
7) He is a new Trainee...

During wotlk i was doing a sarth 3d run with a pug group and 2 people got stuck in the wall near the entrance, a gm appeared (i presume because of their tickets) and removed them from the wall. The gm was a female belf and some of pug kept spamming to her in chat, SHOW US YOUR TITS. She asked them to stop being rude, emoted us bye then left.
As for your sighting, was there locks in your group? I know they used to teleport into rbgs and set themselves as hostile to catch rotation users

Sadly no, it was literally like a second. I had just long enough to register it was definitely a GM and he vanished.
I don't turn Fraps on unless I'm doing something specifically for a video because it eats memory. I have no idea how people manage to record stuff continuously.

It was a pug so I didn't notice I'm afraid.

Protip: Use Nvidia GeForce experience and let it record everything you do. Then when u want to save something just click the shortcut.
I really don't have anything interesting to put here anymore.

That's fascinating. I had no idea about this. I'd seen videos of GM's and assumed it was relatively commonplace for them to come in-world.
What I don't get-what player could possibly resist trying to take down a GM? Not sure why they thought that was bot confirmation.

Those bots instantly dotted as soon as an enemy came in range, so when a GM would spawn and teleport around, they'd get dotted in <0.1s, so they were placed on the list if so. People having fun and running up to them to attack, nah.

Ah, that makes sense. I'm surprised they thought of anything that sophisticated.
