Safe quantity of gold to purchase?
I want to buy gold, but only a small amount. What's a safe amount, and how does it work?
Once, back in 2013, Blizzard suspended my account when I sent 10k from my AH toon to one of my alts on the same account! We're not even talking different sub-accounts on the same BNet account. We're talking about a xfer between toons on the exact same sub account, same server, through the mail. So I'm paranoid about being flagged for buying a quantity 4x that size, e.g. 40k. After further review and about 60 hours, Blizzard did lift the suspension. (I had never botted on that account either.)
Once I bought gold on another account a few years ago. The gold seller then whispered me a week later asking if I wanted to "buy some more gold". OMFG!
How does it work now when I buy gold? How do they xfer the gold discreetly to make sure I'm not suspended/banned? How can I avoid being solicited by some dip$hit seller after the transaction?
Thanks!

Nowadays, most big sellers give you the option between AH transfers, guild bank withdrawals, or F2F (face-to-face) trades. AH transfers and guild-bank withdrawals are by far the most secure. However, with the AH transfer you will lose out on some gold after fees are taken out. Safest method is to use the guild bank withdrawal, where you invite them to a guild that you made, and let them deposit the gold into the bank for you to withdrawal later.
As far as swindlers go, you should use a lot of discretion with who you do business with. Generally high-repped members on the forums can be trusted, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't exercise caution when using them. Individual sellers with no reputation who joined the same month as their only post probably aren't legitimate. If you're using someone from the forums, you should always do your due diligence to yourself and Google their forum and Skype username. A lot of scammers are retards who recycle the same names, so a little research can go a long way in protecting your self.
Trade safely!

I don't think they will ban you or anything like that for 40k. If you want to be as safe as possible, just buy the Game Time Token. They cost a little bit more like the usual 13€/Month (I think they are 20€) and sell for around 80k on the Auction House.

Yeah, the WoW token is $20 (USD) and worth about 35k on my server. Thanks!

I just love KuRIoS
safest method to purchase gold is the wow token. if you want to be sure, do it legit. yeah you could get cheaper, but it comes with a risk.
(don't post things I post to Patreon.)

Also, AH method is no longer as safe as it was. I bought around 1mil before Legion launched, via three 250k AH postings - the very next day i got a blizz email about how buying gold hurts the game etc.
Nothing was reversed, i wasnt banned, etc - but it's clear that they CAN automatically detect buying gold via ah now.

They give that email out to people that have a large quantity of gold automatically, they didnt see that you personally bought gold or your account would be long gone.

I bought 100k over a week ago and requested to trade it through the Auction House, havent seen any problems yet. I was caught a couple years ago buying 50k through F2F and only got a warning letter in game from Blizzard, none of it was taken from me though
