Yes, we've dragged our feet for literally months on this. As much as I'd like to blame staff turnover, Warden, Hamut, Blizzard's legal team, our legal team, Halo 3, and stability issues with the Hellgate:London beta, I can't get away with it. I've been putting it off and Ocktra's been beating on me mercilessly to help finish this off. So today, I'm finally doing it.
I've opened up the Guides forum as the read-only forum it was destined to be, with Ocktra moderating. There's a Submission/Discussion forum that is open for posting, so we can put prospective sticky goodness in there for public commentary. It's members-only at the moment and I'm a bit inclined to leave it that way, but it's still up for discussion.
In terms of submissions, we didn't get a big amount, but that's ok. We'll honor the prizes for the eligible winners. Of course, we got a bunch of submissions that weren't eligible and probably can't be posted (tip: if your guide includes downloading a crack for a tool, that's bad)... or if the guide is a series of profiles. Profiles are definitely good, but not what we're looking for. I even got a couple that I couldn't open, which could have been anything.
So when I filtered everything down to check it out, it was pretty cut and dry from the big field of two eligible entries.
The #1 is Dogstar's guide to macros with Glider - it's a real good bucket of tips and tricks for some neat scripting in the game with Glider and some not-so-well-known settings in Glider you can use to tweak its behavior.
#2 is Raceboy404's repair profiles trickery. It predates vendor waypoints, but the profile grouping stuff is solid and some clever chaps can use it as a basis for training, I'm quite certain. And it actually does work without vendor waypoints.
Both of these are going up in the Guides forum in a few minutes - prizes will be PM'd momentarily by my handy PM-enabled associate, Hamut. Still not sure on the forum title for Dogstar, but I think we'll come up with something good, once the rest of the guys weigh in on it.

I've got a few ideas...
Anyhow, I'm leaning a bit towards having an open rule of giving away Elite cards for awesome guide submissions going forward, since they help everyone out so much. Or at least do another round of subs now that we have a place for it and give away the remaining Elite action that was earmarked for the first go-round.
At any rate, pop in there and check these guys out.
