Question for the people who spend most their time making gold

Do you guys ever lose your drive to keep going? (Keep in mind I dont bot, so everything I do is by hand - I couldnt risk losing my account you guys have balls)

With the state of the expansion & all markets dying / being dead I've lost interest in the nickel & dime game.
How do you guys keep going, what do you do to change out of a slump?

i`m just investing in pets, at some point the dupe will be fixed, and prices will recover, or at least i`m hoping so.
At the end of Cata, i invested all i had into Vial of the Sands, ended up with more than 700. But it sure brought me some nice profit in the first months of MoP.

I just sold all my gold and I am now preparing for WoD getting new accounts up and ready and getting my professions all taken care of. Doing some gearing up so when WoD hits I won't die as much :-)

Made over 10 million this expansion and I think 15 million total since I started making gold (which is around 3.3).

Sitting on less than 500k because I always sell the gold to gold farmers. It's fun making gold but it's pointless having so much you can buy out the server's auction house, so I sell the gold to Chinese people and then pay IRL bills or buy random stuff I want.

e - Oh and if you're scared of selling gold, as long as you're selling to reputable people who make threads on OC, you should be fine. I've avoided doing face to face trades with them and always sold gold via guild bank (either mine or theirs). Just make sure you deposit and they withdraw 20k or less at a time and you should be OK.

I'm a casual auction houser visiting maybe two times a day and probably made over 1m this expac. Got myself a new gfx card from selling gold to my guildmates.
I do hate this end of expac stuff b/c there are a few losers on my server that are on 24/7 and you just can't move a lot anymore.

It was a low-population server and I owned every auction. It was legit.

I have around 1.8mil in gold, another 800k in pets, spent 800k on mounts.
Now I just relax.
I was spending 10-15hours a day just milling/crafting/posting/canceling.
My best days were 10-20k days.
Now that undermine journal is down I can't be bothered.
That being said, even just farming the rare-elites (making sure you get every spawn in townlong) is a great way to make gold. That's an easy 5-10k per day (small and large bags of goods) plus vendor trash.

it's impossible to posses 100% auction in every second of every week of every year... even if realm was 50k ish then number of auctions would be around 10k.... with brain included 10% of that number is enough to get more than 50% income of entire 100% of auctions

ive had this before - but with glyphs on a low pop server.
i would buy out all the glyphs that popped up on the auction house and relist them at higher prices. eventually all the glyphs on my servers ah were at ridiculous prices like 500g, but since they are the only ones there people buy them. i got a 72h ban for this "abuse of the economy"

its not balls they have, its apathy. They could care less about their accounts because at this point they could care less about the game. This is why they are able to thoughtlessly exploit the economy and contribute to RMT etc. Beating a dead horse i know, the game is almost a decade old and the developer themselves have admitted to ruining the genre with it :P Still, its not the game but the community which concerns me. I'd like to think any real mmorpgs that come out in the future wont be plagued with such issues.

Haha, I've had a few of these myself. I've been banned for abuse of economy at least ten times on the same account.

I have about 4.4m gold on my account at the moment from playing the AH. Don't bot or anything like that.

But to answer OPs question, the only motivation is two things:

1) Being able to buy whatever I want in WoD
2) Knowing I can sell the gold if I really want to.
