Avatars?

Hey, I've noticed alot of people have avatars that are very similar, is there a certain "avatar" creator that you guys go to? Or do you make them from scratch, Ex: photoshop, gimp ect. I know it seems trivial, but I'm getting bored of my avatar - Thanks, Shiny
