    aggressive undercutters?

hey on my server there is this guy that whenever i post any of my glyphs, gems or enchants he undercuts minutes later and is always camping the ah. all this is stopping me making gold and i am losing gold by undercutting him, i have also tried waiting and letting his sell but as soon as some of his sell he puts up more i cant make any gold is there anything i can do?

    aggressive undercutters?

If he's doing it legitimately -> without bots, then no.

If he's botting it. Then yes.

Nope, you could try and buy him out completely, but i doubt that will work if they are there 24/7 they are either a bot, or its the game to them (some raid, some pvp, some play the AH)

    Edit
What server are you on, because im doing that right now.

Id advise you to get out of the glyph market as thats VERY competitive and you wont have a chance unless you do sit the AH all day.

With very few doubts, he is running agressive AHBot.
As moor2 said, undercut him by huge margin, like 1/3th of his price, and see what he will do. I guess you will loose few gold coins that way, but im sure, you will learn more for his behaviour and could successfully boot him out of the business. Because there is nothing worse than unprofitable ahbot or moneyloosing such.

Okay so if he has an AH bot that is undercutting you, this means there isn't a human to be able to look at a situation and say 'this makes no sense', so why don't you take advantage of that? Meaning, why don't you undercut him and wait for him to undercut you. Then do this over and over till he is listing at a ridiculously low price. Then either buy him out completely because he is now listing cheap enough or he is now losing a lot of money on each auction. Yes this will make you lose your ah listing fees, but only undercut him with like a 5 stack, or as few as it takes to trigger his undercut. For a while you will just straight lose money on the ah listings and not make auction sales, but your goal should be to either bankrupt the toon or make him stop because there is no profit.

Other thing you can do is report him as an auction house bot and he is negatively impacting the server economy / exploiting the economy.

    or both.

There's a bot on Earthen Ring called Physics, if you put up a glyph or shoulder enchant anything lower than his, he instantly sees that and relists his..Can't beat a bot, sadly.

option 1 - undercut till its ridiculously cheap (well under cost of manufacture) and then buy him out
option 2 - undercut till its ridiculously cheap and let the server buy him out because you spam trade that your undercutting efforts are making the AH bot sell at a loss vs materials
option 3 - report his AH bot for exploiting the economy and get him banned
option 4 - uninstall warcraft and join French Foreign Legion
    option 5 - do nothing

Bots can preset the minimum price, can also use them to check with auctioneer data, they won't buy below manufacture price unless they are retarded, and actually, most aren't.

A tip would be to give the "player" a while at analyzing it's behavior: How long it stands next to the Auction House NPCs, how linear and repetitive it's pattern is both by acting and moving between the mailbox and back and finally to simply ask common questions. All to see if they are botting. If so, report them with the required information and they will guaranteed be banned.

If they would happen to not be, I would recommend not attempting to sell glyphs as they are very low in demand, when almost all players have them already learned and does not need any other. Focus on crafting materials which are used to create items used in raiding environments, such as: Living Steel, Ghost Iron Bar/Ore, herbs and epic gear which has the highest item level possible to craft or it will never sell. Another common tip and the best is to buy the very base materials such as Ghost Iron Ore and so on, and then use it to craft an item at the end of the production chain, for the maximum amount of money:
Raw materials (ores, herbs, leather) ---> Base crafting item (Ghost Iron Bar) ---> Next tier crafting item ---> (Living Steel) ---> An item at the end of the production-chain which will sell for the most amount of money.
