Make gold without making yourself obvious... [Herb/Inscription]

So I've been botting a lot of herbs lately, and I've had a few botting friends get banned for "Exploiting the economy" doing the same with ore. Normally I would just mill them and make glyphs with inscription, but with MoP blizzard has added a shortcut to gold. If you are willing to give up the potential extra profit on a glyph, you can just craft many Secret shoulder enchants. These vendor for 18g 75s each, around the price of the average glyph, at least on my server, and cost as much as a glyph does to craft. My most recent milling/crafting session yielded 3,000 Ink of Dreams.


(This isn't all of them, the last few stacks didn't fit in my bags so they were in the bank.)

Crafting 1,000 secret shoulder enchants, selling for 18g 75s each. I pulled in 18,750g.

This isn't counting what I make from the Starlight Ink that I get, a total of 620 this time around. I usually make the greater shoulder enchants with these ink, and list 4 of each on the AH all the time. On my server they range from 300-600g each. With 620 ink, thats 206 crafts. Lets just go with the lowest of the range, 300x206=61,800g. For a grand total of just slightly over 80k. In a week I've sold almost all of the enchants on the AH, with less than 10 left of each kind, all without making thousands upon thousands of posts and cancels to the AH for glyphs.

Now.. this is a FAR CRY from what you could potentially make just AH or Wholesale to someone, but it far less conspicuous, doesn't need the middle man, and what you end up selling on the AH is a supply that a normal person could keep up just doing a little daily herbing. It also doesn't have the wait time associated with glyphs, including the ridiculous amount of time it takes to craft them all and get them from the mailbox when you cancel, and doesn't require thousands of clicks (or automated clicks) to post and cancel it all. Saving you the headache of it all.



Also wanted to comment about the ink... that ink took me over 3 hours to completely mill and craft. 3,620x2 seconds per craft = 7240 seconds or Roughly 2 hours just waiting on the craft. (120.66 minutes) I think this is a little rediculous and blizzard needs to shorten the time lol.

Been testing this lately, and I'm averaging 20g / stack of Snow Lilly milled, which is quite nice considering AH price for it is at 23g atm

I would assume they look into the AH more than anything especially considering how my friends were banned. They were obviously botting(24/7 using EWT) but didn't get a botting ban, just a ban for exploiting the economy. (which ended up as perm because of previous offences)

I know these people IRL, and I've talked with them in person since and I've made more than twice as much gold as they did. I'm also botting pretty much 24/7, like them.

As long as 1 stack of herbs sell for more then 24.75g This method is not worth it.

I never said it was "worth" it, in fact I even stated that it is not anywhere near as much gold as you would get for wholesale or AH of any of the different items this process goes through. (ie, herb>pigment>ink>glyph)

Merely stated that this is not only an instant gratification for gold, but also cuts out a lot of the work associated with keeping up with glyph sales or having to wait on a middleman to be around to take things off your hands... but it comes at the cost of potential profits. Now if you think like the fat cat companies in the world then yeah. You just lost 60k gold because you didn't meet the projections. Its not that Oh snap i just made an instant 20k that i didn't have to wait weeks for or anything. its "I didn't make as much as I thought we would, thats a loss."

It also makes things a little bit safer in terms of not having to associate with people that you don't really know. Who knows if that guy you just sold 100 stacks of herbs to is someone that is going to be investigated by blizzard next week, and because he just made a large gold transfer to your account you'll then be under scrutiny as well. With this method you don't have to associate with any unscrupulous individuals.

What if Blizzard does a look for how many people have vendored shoulder enchants? I think we would pop up on a report having sold 5000 enchants in a week....

Then whats to stop them from coming up with a report about anything we do at all? Mass transit of anything anywhere would be traceable, at that point it doesn't matter at all what method you use, you'll get caught.

Blizzard doesn't like smart people, there are producing tons of gold. They prefer as less gold floating around, as possible.
And in generally all people making high amounts gold, on a daily baisis, are getting watched way more than the usual poor wow player.

I did not mean to lessen the value of what you wrote, I simply stated at what point you would earn more from this than from selling herbs.
