    post apocalyptic elwynn

after much deliberation i've decided to release one of my zone edits...a post apocalyptic elwynn forest

unfortunatly while i was tweaking a few tihngs in it last night my hard drive got all emo an killed itself lol, typing this as i run windows thru RAM, rofl, so i cant exactly release screenies till i get all my data migrated to my temporary hard drive, so i'll put up the storyline an a description now, some screens this after noon...i hope /sigh

following the recent uprising of kel'thuzad an his forces the city of stormwind was weakened in it's defenses. In a final act of desperation and spite kel'thuzed unleashed his magic on stormwind herself. The king's mages and warlocks were able to shield the city, in part, and deflect the majority of the destructive force. away from the great city. But kel'thuzad's power was not so easily denied. The reprecussions tore the surrounding lands asunder. Violent earthquakes and flooding ravaged the once beautiful land of elwynn.
The ground itself was torn, flood waters poured into the once serene valley, destroying much, if not all of the beautiful forest.
Elwynn now is a wasteland of dangerous, nearly un-navagable terrain and waters. The residents now fight night an day for survival and the rebuilding of their homes. Elwynn has become a dangerous land, trecherous and isolated. Stormwind is unable to help those so close to its walls as it must rebuild itself as well...

But the stormwind aspect of this story is a release for another time, if at all. I havent decided whether or not to release any more than this one edit yet.

screenshots...hopefully...soon, followed closely by a release link.

    Re: post apocalyptic elwynn

well, as i stated above my hard drive crapped out while i was making minor changes to this edit and i had to recover everyting from scratch.

I'm sorry to say that most of this edit in particular was also corrupted

i however salvaged the .adt and a few othe files, rebuilding the rest from scratch so my final release will be ina week or so i imagine, in the meantime heres a couple screens and i put up the crappy semi-done version that i managed to save...If any of the other skilled zone editors wanna pitch in PM me and we will see what can be done...really disappointing that this edit in particular that i wanted to release got screwed over /sigh

    SCREENS:

    -creature pathing
    -foliage\doodads spawn locations
    -sound

    Re: post apocalyptic elwynn

A human>undead model edit would fit nicely with this

    Re: post apocalyptic elwynn

This kind of edit would be ideal for a private server you own where you could just have everyone whos on download the mod, and you could also spawn any NPC you wanted to to give the edit a more in-depth feeling.

    Re: post apocalyptic elwynn

@matherine12345 since the area closer to goldshire is technically lower then the land around SW yes, the area more towards SW is generally below normal ground level to accomodate the water

@kody's first post, no i dont plan on doing that race change, while it'd look good yes it wouldnt fit the storyline i made it around
@kody's second post, yeah, it would be more ideal for a private server, i dont make my edits on 'coolness' or functionality, but rather more for what my ideas are and an almost artistic ideal =P

EDIT: btw, why was this moved to general anyway? it's most decidely a model edit, rofl
