I need help with CE (pointers)

I would like to make a trainer out of a value that changes when you restart the game...I am having trouble with finding the pointer, heres what happened....
I found the address I could change and all that, I selected to find what writes to it...I selected the address thing that was writing to it and seleted the thing it found and it said the value of the pointer you need for this address etc etc: (some value here)
I then when back to main CE and did a 4byte HEX search for that value and I always get 0 results, I was able to complete the tutorial that comes with CE, I found that value but with any other program I never can....

I have also tried a different tutorial same results..
Summary:
I cant find the value they suggest in the extra info window even doing a 4byte hex search =(

EDIT: I figured out how to find the pointer, But it just says P->(Address of the dynamic value)
And when I re-login the value goes to ??, this confuses me.
How do people make trainers with a value that changes each time you re-login/exit game......
I know its possible because somebody made a speedhack for wow and that value changes each time the game restarts or you re login like the trainer I am making
