Account Security Question

Hi all,

Basically my buddy let me have his account near the end of BC. I've had it ever since and did the Battle.net merger in my name. The issue arises when I want to sell the account. I called him up and he's cool with it, the only issue is he doesn't remember the secret answer from before the Battle.net merger. He says it's been over 5 years and without knowing what the question was, he can't possibly know the answer.

Is there a relatively easy way to get at the old security question (pre-merger) ? I have a feeling calling up Blizzard to get at that information will be difficult, especially considering the registered name on the account is different between pre and post merger.

There's no problem if You lost your answer and even question, You have to just call to them or open a ticket on site, few weeks ago I changed my e-mail (bnet login) and question + answer.

Yeah, I guess where I'm getting stuck is the fact that I'm not the original owner, yet the original owner gave me the go-ahead to sell it. It's looking like some sites need the original account name along with the registered address/phone/SQA while some just want a valid ID, I can get him to provide his ID, I just don't have the telephone/SQA from when he created the account back in Vanilla (just my Battle.net info with that SQA).

Only issue is the pre-merger info is under his name and the post-merger info is under my name. I was thinking of calling up billing and saying something along the lines of:

"I quit WoW and my roommate got a hold of my account and kept playing it and I'm interested in returning and he's willing to relinquish control"

I'm not sure how well that'd work out though.
