what does blizz do about hacked accounts

Ok id like to first say ive never had my account hacked before but ive been wondering what does Blizz do about hacked accounts? Like do they have a way to find out who hacked it or if someone lets say sharded all ur epics and mailed them to someone could they track that person down? Ive been wondering about this for sometime now and was hoping someone could tell me.


PS:No im not planing on hacking someones account just simply want to know if the person that hacked the account gets banned or something :\ my friend had his account hacked sooo... this is partly for him more then it is for me.

My Tier 2 shaman got his gear sharded and nothing happened to anyone....but that was along time ago when the GMs didn't track mail logs.

Well if the culprit takes the right steps in looting your account, nothing will be done.

If its a kid on an adrenaline rush they can track. Most likely because he will have simply transferred/mailed large sums of money/items FROM your account (which would have a history of what happend attached to it for admins to view).



When you login and you suspect you've been jacked (yes jacked), report it.
Dont move, or go anywhere. Check your mail and bank, dont send anything. Literally, do **** all. Report it. Tell them in your ticket that you are changing the password on the website.
While your ticket is in queue, go to the accounts management page and change your password.

yes something will happen cuz my account got hacked and my 3 60's wer delete and thay found the guy and all thay did was slap him on the wrists and say to me srry we cant do anything to get your account back

Ya yesterday blizz emailed him telling him they cant do anything about it but they did give him a free 60days to play i guess to have him lvl another char to 60 :\
