Engineering... what's good? (especially for exploration)

So... I finally broke down last night, dropped my Alchemy, and picked up Engineering.

If you've seen my MMOwned posts, I'm an Explorer. It always killed me that I didn't have a pair of Rocket Boots... so now I soon will have them.

I leveled to 525 last night. Made myself some nice googles, and one of those Turbo-Charged Flying Machines. Going to start running Mechanar tonight to get my boots.

My question....

What else is awesome / fun / must-have in the Engineering profession... especially for (but not limited to) the Explorers, like myself?

Parachute Cloak, Gnomish Shrink Ray ( especially the Dysfunction that will make you grow), Mind Amplification Dish ( The Dysfunction that will disorientate you. With this you can "Walk through Walls" :P, not every wall, but some will work^^), Nitro Boosts (the wotlk ones for the dysfunction that will shoot you up in the air), Steam Tonk Controller. Thats all i remember But there are certainly more.

The Dysfunctions need some luck, but i think an Explorer like you got some patience ;P

So, Gnomish Shrink Ray... is that with the Gnomish specialization? I am still considering what would be best, Gnomish or Goblin...

Goblin for Bombs etc. and Gnomish for all the fun stuff

If you're into exploration, you probably want Gnomish xD. If im not mistaking, unless they changed it, the gnomish gravity well is gnomish spec only.

The gnomish army knife for resurecting just incase an explorer friend of yours' dies, and dj_crazy covered the rest.

The Gnomish Shrink Ray only requires Gnomish engineer to craft, but the item is BoE and can be used by either Gnome or Goblin Engineer. Both types can craft and use the Gnomish Army Knife, and like the other Goblin Jumper Cables they do not bind and can be traded amongst engineers in the group (as cooldown is per engineer and not with the item). There are very few difference between Gnomish and Goblin engineers, do a little research and you will see. As suggested if your mostly interested in exploring and cool gadgets, then you will likely end up going Gnomish anyways.
