How to make a WoW like forum - PHPBB3 - If new, use a video, there is one.

    So, here we begin.

    Steps:
    1) For the new people at Web tools. -- You will need Filezilla. Google: Filezilla Download
    2) Choose your host. -- Some free hosts: 000webhost, Megabyet, Zymic
    3) Downloading the Source - phpBB3 download
    5) Downloading the style -- WoW5thAniversary • phpBB3 Styles Demo - phpBB3styles.net. Note: There are some more after this, you may want to check them out.
    5) Installing phpBB3
    6) Installing the style you have chosen
    7) Setting up forums, usergroups and permissions
    Joomla & Other
    9) VIDEO ON HOW TO INSTALL PHPBB3 if you do not understand the guide. -- YouTube - ‪How to Install phpBB on 000Webhost.com‬‏
SOME MORE THINGS: You WILL NEED MySQL DATABASES FOR THE INSTALLATION

    1) For the new people -- Web tools

You will need one thing, Filezilla, at the steps given, there is how to download it.

Anyway, here is a way to download it (As I did)
    »»»»»»» Google » FileZilla Download

    2) 2) Choose your host. -- Some free hosts: 000webhost, Megabyet, Zymic

Here are the following hosts' websites.

Free Web Hosting with PHP, MySQL and cPanel, No Ads
Free Web Hosting, Free Templates, Free Tutorials and More - Zymic
    http://megabyet.com/

Note: Host does not matter, you decide

    Paid hosts:
    Bluehost.
    Maiahost
    ________________________________________________________________________________ _
    3) Downloading the Source - http://www.phpbb.com/downloads/olympus.php
Click the "Download full package" link, the .zip ones (THE FIRST ONES)

This is downloading the phpBB3, simply click the link.

    ________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________

    5) Downloading the style -- WoW5thAniversary • phpBB3 Styles Demo - phpBB3styles.net. Note: There are some more after this, you may want to check them out.

Yes, you may want to check the styles out, follow the link I gave you, you may use Non-Wow related styles, this is a guide for it all.

You can later configure it with Joomla

    6) Installing phpBB3

Now, if you have done all I told you in this guide, it should be pretty easy now.

First: Extract the phpBB-3.0.8.zip to your desktop
Then open the file that is named 'phpBB3', it's a folder, actually.

Now, copy it all (SELECT IT ALL, AFTER YOU OPEN THE FILEZILLA)

Open FileZila, as you have already chosen a host, you should create MySQL databases, after this, Go to the "FTP" or something like it, or in Zymic there is a Tab with the info (Left side)

Now, fill out the details that are required in the FileZilla,
***** -- YOU CAN GET THEM BY THE THING I TOLD YOU, ABOUT THE FTP. USE IT! It's YOUR FRIEND!
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE MySQL DATABASE ALSO!

    ___________________
    Starting:

Now, select this and DRAG IT, to the FileZilla

Host notices: Delete index.html if using Zymic, then upload it.
-- If 000webhost, upload in the "public_html" folder.

THE PROCESS MAY TAKE UP TO 10-30-40 minutes, I cannot tell you how much time it will need you to do this.

    , Now.
After all the uploading is done, go to:

YOUR WEBSITE's URL, then type a Slash (/)
And AFTER the slash type install

    Example of your URL:

    http://www.example.com/install/
, now you should start configuring your info.

IMPORTANT: As at 4-5th step *Not sure which one*, you may need to make your files writeable.

How to: Select them all, and click your right button, then go to "Access" or something like it.
In the access, as number, put "777".

After all is done, your configuration should be working, MySQL databases will be asked for, I warn you.

WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED WITH INSTALLING, go to your configs directory (Via FileZilla)

    Directory: includes/config.php/

    Make it's access 644.
    ________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________

    6) Installing the style you have chosen

Unzip the .zip file to your Desktop, there is a folder with the style name, upload it to the directory of your forum in the "Styles" folder. (USE FILEZILLA, DRAG IT THE SAME WAY YOU DID THE PHPBB3 ONES!)

Go to ACP (Assuming you've installed you PHPBB3)
And there go to the "Styles" tab, there you should see the style's name (WAIT FOR THE STYLE TO UPLOAD FULLY)
    You will see "Install"
When installing, you can set it as default or no.

Video on how to install a style: YouTube - ‪PHPBB: Installing a Style‬‏
    ________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________

    7) Setting up forums, usergroups and permissions

AS SOMETIMES THE INSTALL IS F*CKED UP, you may need to set your permissions:
THIS IS ONLY IF YOU CANNOT POST AFTER CREATING CREATING YOUR FORUM, TRY TO POST!

Go to the "Forums" tab in the ACP.

Go to: Forum Permissions (Left corner tab)
There, select all usergroups or forums, really not remembering.

    IT"S FORUMS, yes.

First, create the forums you may want, or something like it, I recommend you copying permissions from the first forum that is created by default.

    Usegroups:

Copy the permissions from the default ones too, recomended

Excuse my grammar if there is some mistake, I am sorry if the guide is messy.

Where in the description of this forum do you find "Webpages"?
"Gold making, leveling, and skill gaining guides for World of Warcraft."
I'd suggest the WoW-General forums over at This page
