    New Type of Gold Seller?

So today as I was in SW, I noticed an awful lot of people spamming in trade chat about selling things that you can buy in the blizzard store such as pets, the celestial steed, cataclysm online upgrade and game time for gold. The prices were way cheap. Cataclysm for 20k, 1 month game time for 4k, celestial for 8k. So out of interest, I whispered and asked how the trade would work out, and they all said they would give the code first, then have you pay the gold. So I decided to buy a 1 month game code for 4k and the transaction went smoothly, he gave the code, I put it in and I got my month for only 4k!

But i'm a little suspicious right now. By the typing, I can tell they were most likely chinese gold sellers. But what i'm wondering is how they payed 15 dollars for 4k gold? Does that make any sense, when they usually sell 4k gold for much less? So then I decided to buy the touring rocket from one of them. The level 1 female human gave me the email and we had our accounts linked. She then purchased the game time and promised me that the account was supposedly bound for 2 months to ensure I would get the mount. I kind of asked a lot of questions and wanted proof. In the end all she said was "k" and logged off without me actually giving her any gold. Now i'm wondering how a gold seller could just pay 15 dollars and not receive any gold and just log off like that.

Has anyone else traded with these people? I'm afraid of getting banned or something.

EDIT: She logged back on and I decided to give her the 10k for the touring rocket, ill just have to wait till the 1st month expires to see.

I've seen these on my server, too.
I've spent all my gold on flying and mats for my 85s, so I haven't purchased anything from them.

Haven't heard any reports of people being scammed by them, though.

    Still - be careful.

Thanks to Mit0 for the sweet Sig!

stuff bought with hacked/scammed creditcards, so if blizz traces back the code used to your acc when the transaction gets reversed by the owner that got his cc stolen or the payment fails you end up with a blocked acc.

happened a few times now on my realm.

even i got my share of learning from such stuff... bought gtc on ebay for few bucks and after a few weeks my acc got blocked, phoned to blizz and they told me that i used a gtc bought with a stolen cc and had to pay normally again to get my acc unblocked. -.-'

I just lost my Celestial steed that I bought for about 2 days. Same with the game time. Not sure about the RAF yet, still pending. Never going to buy codes from them again.

I once bought an account upgrade from ebay for Lineage 2 because NCSoft didn't have digital purchases. Anyway, after five months I had a pretty sweet account. I bought a level 74 Elf which at this time cost me 800$ but I got bored of that particular char so I traded it for gold and then liquidated everything onto my original account which I had bought an upgrade code for on eBay.

Anyway, after a while, my account got banned. This was my original account that was totally clean. I never did anything bad on it, and it turned out that the guy who sold me the key did a mass charge back. After explaining everything to NCSoft they refused to let me pay for an upgrade of the account and said that termination was final.

I couldn't understand why they refused to let me pay for the upgrade. I went out of my way to explain everything. I absolutley hate NCSoft now and will never touch a single one of their games. I'm glad that they haven't made a succesful mmorpg ever, and that they need to lie about how many millions of subscribers they have. Since I doubt millions of people can fit on their 7 servers which they are running now. BS.
