    Buying an account, worries?

Ok well i'm thinking of buying an account for a decent amount, not from a friend or anything though, off of a website. I'm just wondering if it is really safe to buy accounts in the first place? I mean isn't there a way once you have their account that they can get it back. Even after you have their e-mail/phone number and all that.

I'm just really paranoid about doing this. Some help and/or info would be great.

Also the site i'm buying from is http://www.topgamegold.com which i've heard is fairly reliable but that's not exactly what i'm worried about.

There is something called the secret question and answer. You need the phone number email changed to yours and you need the answer to the question. The standard way of trading is i give you password but i also change account info to your phone number and email and give you secret question. Even with all of this changed the orignal owner of the account can call blizzard and tell them he was hacked. They will reset the email and phone# when he does this and give him the password (you can only do this 3 times before the get suspicous and lock acct) So basically you can always get scammed so its best just to buy a new cd key and xfer the character.

Buying accounts is safe, as long as you go to a VERY trusted website, always check out reports of the site on multiple forums.

The OO (Original Owner) of the account, can ALWAYS in any circumstance get the account back, by faxing or posting I.D. issued from the Government, it's a risky business, and there always will be a risk factor there, it depends if you want to take it.

    Re: Buying an account, worries?

Well, there is a chance of it getting banned. The way they do most bans on account selling, from what I hear, is that if the account was once an account with 2 toons and the OO transfered one off to sell and kept the other, blizzard would find out and ban them both. So when you get the account check the transfer history.

Another thing, make sure you get ALL INFO. The only exception is if you know the guy in real life. Seeing as how you are buying from a company, it should have all the info.

Oh, and you might want to check out markeedragon.com... you will be able to get a way better deal, but there are higher chances of getting scamed. Up to you.

    Re: Buying an account, worries?

So if i bought the account and changed the email/phone to match mine i could transfer the character to my account? or would the full name (first/last names of the actual person who owns it) of the account have to match too as in i would have to invest in a new cd key/expansion cd key and make the full name match?

and there is no way to change the secret answer right?

sorry about all the questions, i'd just rather not get scammed lol

Only the last name would be the same, make all of the other info yours.
