What will happen if you logout a, lets say, level 1 alt in the Stormwind Park district, and don't touch it until Cataclysm comes and destroys the park?

What will happen with the alt ;o?

Probably quite simple. Cataclysm gets enabled by a server restart, everyone spawns the exact same spot id suppose. Too many changes to let people just logout where they please.

Well, right before Wrath of the Lich King was released people who logged out in old Naxxramas found themselves floating in the void (like when falling through the world) or having their clients crash for being in a non-existent area. Blizzard warned players not to do this, but people didn't listen and from what I heard GM's where quite busy on release day freeing trapped players.
