Requesting Help with Cataclysm Alpha + sandbox.

I wasn't sure where to put this, and I didn't see a "FAQ" on the post for sandboxing.

When attempting to install the Cataclysm Alpha to run in sandbox, I get this error. "World of Warcraft could not be found. Please make sure the game is properly installed."

I did not use the disks to install WoW, I copied it over from my external hard drive, and placed it in C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft\

Has anyone had this problem? Or know how to fix it.

Dont run it in sandbox try this and post screenshots.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. I can't install the alpha. I'm getting the error when attempting to install the actual Alpha itself. Not the sandbox, I'm sure I'll get an error for that too though knowing my luck *rolls eyes.*

Well, personally, my WoW was installed in C:/Program Files (x86)/World of Warcraft and the alpha installer found the files it needed just fine. Perhaps your copy of WoW is in a directory it is not searching, or the installation of it is corrupted and does not have the needed files? You might try installing it (installing, not copy-pasting) into your Program Files folder, and making sure it is patched over to the most current live patch.

Now, I didn't fix my error, but I got super tricky (lol) and installed it on my Windows XP laptop, and then rar'ed up the files, 14 gigs later, and an FTP upload, it's now on my main PC in the same spot: C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft Beta and is working well so far, it's currently updating / patching. So, if anyone gets this error, there's your quick fix.
