Third party BG warning

Could anybody tell me if there is a third party program out there that would run as a desktop widget or just an overlay, and would tell me if a BG queue is up?

I have a Logitech G15 keyboard that tells me when a queue is up, but I rarely find myself looking at my keyboard's LCD screen. Although the fact that it exists gives me hope that there is a simple solution here.

Any suggestions?

You could probably run an OnEvent script and when the BG ques have it play a loud noise in that addon (Since addons play sounds even with WoWs sound turned off). If this is what you were thinking of I could write this for you in like 15 minutes.

That's sounds like a pretty slick idea, let me check around and see if something like that exists. No reason to reinvent the wheel.

Wasn't aware addons would make sounds with the client minimized, I usually play with a pretty stock client. Thanks for the heads-up.

I do believe thats an option in the interface:

Interface>Sound and Voice>Sound>Sound in background.

Easier would be putting music+ambiance on 0 (I assume you already got that) and normal on 100%. Enable Sound in Background and you'll hear the queue pop..
