    Blizzard: "Ninjalooting now = scamming"!!!

Please note – this revised policy is not retroactive and we will not investigate cases which occurred before 29/04/2010

Moments after logging into the game for the first time, players get to experience one of the hallmarks of World of Warcraft: looting. Whether playing solo or with a group of other players, the process of looting items is integral to making a character more powerful. The more one plays, the more epic this loot gets—and the more complicated loot distribution can become.

Over the last few months you have made it apparent to us that scams (a.k.a. “ninja looting”) are one of your upmost concerns, and subsequently, we have revised our scamming policies in an attempt to prevent misleading behaviour. Our goal here is also to clear up any confusion about what we can and cannot help with in regards to looting, and provide you with the support that you have asked for.

Please take a look at these new and updated articles on our support site, which will explain “ninja looting” and the revised scam policy in greater detail:

What is Blizzard Entertainment's stance on "ninja looting" within the World of Warcraft?

Damn. Now I'll actually have to say "Phoenix on reserve"? There go my weekly TK runs. Wait, does this affect US too? Our topic doesn't actually mention ninja-looting per say.

This actually is not different from the policies they've been using for a while now. If you're Master Looter and you take an item, that is not a scam. If you say "Roll [item]" or that loot will be rolled for ahead of time, then take it, that is a scam. If you never lay out loot rules or never tell people they can roll on a given item, that isn't a scam when you take it.

If you never said you weren't going to take the item, then taking it is not a scam, because you never lied to the players. Master Looter still means every piece belongs to you unless you've made an agreement with other raid members that it will be distributed in a certain way.

I grouped with a "ninja-looter," can I get the item that I am entitled to returned?
Players that loot an item out of turn or against the group's wishes do not meet the criteria for scamming
All this is for is to alert players that if they're specifically lied to, they can now do something about it. If you want to combat ninja looting, make sure to just send the raid leader a message like "Will the items all be rolled on?" or something like that. If they say yes, then go back on that, you can report them for scamming. If you never ask and they never say it, you're out of luck when they take your item.

Technically no, though obviously it's not a very respectable thing to do without. If someone asks you "Will the mount be rolled on?" or something similar, and you tell them yes, it would be a scam if you just take it and neglect the rolling. If nobody asks and you never say it will be rolled for, the loot is yours to do with what you wish.

I agree not much has changed in terms of their policy.

But what HAS changed is them making players more aware of their policy. We will hopefully see a decline in the amount of players ninjalooting and at least have a way to get back at those who do provided you take certain precautions before or during the run.

I'll just stick with my GDKP runs. I've put up with ninja's for too long to even give them a second chance.... so many items lost because of dodgey raid leaders.

rofl nice work as usual Unholyshaman <3 . i put up a ticket finaly after i got fed up with countless times being ninjaed after wining the rolls . this time the fag went too fahr after i won the roll on DC he told me he will loot it to me after we downed Anub . as soon as we downed him he goes DC up for sale to the highest bidder . i was like WTF !!!. put the ticket in with detailed info about the ninja happening and bam 3 days later i got it in the mail :PPPP justice done to both the master looter ( i hope he got at least 3 days suspention ) and the fag who payed gold for it . so bottom line is if master looter says something clearly about loot and they do something else is considered a scam . i realy hope they make this known so ninja looters will finaly stop doing that shit .

Yup, everything is pretty much the same. I think the only change is for GBank Ninjaing. Is it even a change?

One thing that is nice though about being a veteran WoW player (been raiding since Pre-BC), is that you end up being fully capable to raid lead any raid you want. Even if you haven't set foot in it before.

As long as you have read the strats, watched the vids and able to hold your head above the water you can raid lead what ever you want without much trouble at all.

So it's been a while since I have had anything major ninjad from me (Honestly all that comes to mind is Finkles Lava Dregder back in Molten Core, a few low level BoEs and Thoridal, the Star's Fury last week (I was already saved to SWP on my main so joined another pug run for it on my other alt).

If you read through the rules, if you say MS>OS b4 a raid, people might take that as the rules, but you can still ninja items, for your MS, as you don't acctually say anything about rolling b4 each piece of loot.
