    Buying gold....

What is a safe amount to purchase at one time if doing face to face trades?

I bought 30,000g about 2 weeks ago....what are my chances of geting caught if I was to buy say 80,000 to 100,000 more gold for the same account?

Would it be better to get the gold on my other account on the same server then trade it to the account that had 30k previously? Or am I going through all that trouble for nothing?

Just as a note I don't resell the gold or anything. I use it for myself to further progress my toon. Considering crusader orbs are going to be vendor items soon I'm going to need the gold for making several items...etc etc

I'd recommend you not to go down the face to face path. 30k may be inconspicuous but 80-100k in a face to face trade will surely raise some flags. Can you not get them to but some linen cloth off the AH which you've priced at say 20k per to transfer the gold? You'll lose 5% of 100k (5k) but if you're concerned about the safety of your account that won't matter.

so the auction house method is best rather than face to face when dealing with this large amount of gold?

well I mean they don't deliver 30k at one time from one character...its like 5000g here, 9000g here, 6000g, 5000 there, etc etc here from all different characters & accounts i'm guessing too, not sure though.

Right now the safest way to protect yourself is purchase on an account you don't mind losing and immediately laundering it into a guild bank you have access to on another account. Face to face isn't any harder to log than AH or anything else for that matter so just do what's most convenient.

Lately my younger brother has been buying gold in 30k chunks (F2F in 5-6k chunks as you said) and I've been investing it immediately into solid goods (in a virtual sense o.O) that I can then store in a guild bank we've setup. My personal experience has been that you're way more likely to get the account banned with no other action than the account banned + removal of items from a guild bank w/ actual members. (We just invite random peoples low level alts and our main's bank chars.) At this point he's bought well over 200k and hasn't had a single problem yet.

I would suggest using the guild bank technique its better then the AH way because you loose no money nuff said. anytime you buy you run the chance of getting caught.

Idea: Main acc buys fairly good epic and puts it on ah for about 50% or 100% more value like alittle overprice the bot then buys the weapon and sell the weapon for the ammount my main acc bought it for...
this will mean that youll loose 5% of the gold but still this method seems to be a really safe one......
