OP pala or awful hunter

I was riding in arathi highlands when i got jumped by a hunter. i was level 37 prot pala, and this hunter was level 47. I KILLED him, now this may be me being insanely good with palas, the hunter was awful or palas are just OP!?

I've killed several hunters that were much higher than me when I was a lowbie (40-50ish), they're fairly easy.
I was and still am a ret paladin though.

its just odd because when i used to play a hunter i owned in pvp, this hunter was kiting me, but with the use of hand of freedom it didnt really work =)
