    How are powerlevelers detected?

    Anyone know?

Does Blizzard track IPs or what?
Or do they just get suspicious when your character is suddenly on 24/7?

I've never gotten PLed before. But I'm now considering it. But it's just 4 levels (55-59). You think I'll be okay for that short amount of time? It's only gonna take 40 hours.

Just kind of afraid to do it. A friend of mine just got banned a couple weeks ago for getting PLed.

    Thanks.

    Re: How are powerlevelers detected?

A few power leveling services probably use prog's to bot the character through, obviously enough, getting caught.

BTW: if they only got 4 levels, after playing for 40 hours 24/7, i think they fail as a power leveling service :P

    Re: How are powerlevelers detected?

There is one legitiment powerleveling company out there that I have found.

    www.yehforgames.com

Based in Arizona. Americans actually playing your character, no bots.

Other than that I wouldn't try any others out there. Friend of mine got banned last month for using a company that said they didn't use bots. Two days into the leveling he was banned for using a bot...

Wow. An american company? Thanks for showing me that. They're a little more expensive than most other companies but seems like it'd be worth it.

I used thsale from 49 to 58 and didn't have any problems at all, so I don't know why you're saying not to use them.

    Re: How are powerlevelers detected?

Blizzard does indeed track IP addresses and gateways. A buddy of mine gave me his old account with a 65 Warrior on it (he leveled it legit), and three days after I logged on (he lives in TX, I live in IN), the account was banned. Account sharing is illegal, they can get you on a 3-day ban for that. Account sharing to a powerleveler can get you perma-banned with no previous account infractions.

I'd watch out and think about it powerleveling a few levels is worth getting your account banned for good.

Yes, too bad that is completely irrelevant to my post. Also, none of your post is right. They track IPs regardless of country; one person could log in to your account that lives in the same city as you, Hell, in the same apartment as you, and your account is subject to being banned.

LOL, so I guess I should quit having all those lan parties at my house.

Do you really think blizz is going to track millions of IPs it sees everyday?

This is how it works. They know what IP blocks and sub ranges to look for. Trust me they do their research on gold/powerleveling companies.

So they would have a script running, that keeps a log of all IP addresses that match those address ranges. Then investigate those accounts.

(Keep in mind this is not true if companies are using proxy/wingate or zombie machines to do their dirty work for them.)
