Private Servers...? Bannable?

This is just a quick question... are Private servers bannable in someway if you go on them then play WoW? or can they tell? thanks!

The answer is no. They could easily tell, but they don't really care so much about the players.

OK, here's the thing, Yes, it's technically a bannable offense, and yes, if the GM's find out you've been on them you can get banned, but there isn't anyway to know if you don't go around in /2 yelling "ZOMG I HEART PRIVATE SERVER 1337 HAX PEWPEWLAZORBEEMZ!!!" so, basically, don't brag, and you won't get banned. I've been playing both retail and private serverz for a little over 2 years now, and haven't had a problem. BTW... best way to switch? don't download a private server's launcher app, just do this... (this is what my realmlist looks like:

set realmlist worldofwarcraftblahblahblah (retail)
#set realmlist logon.wowscape.net
#set realmlist <any other private server here>

basically you can put a '#' in front of the ones you don't want to log into (this realmlist example is set up to use retail.)
