Need help with my friends account being taken.

He bought an account a little over a year ago. The guy he bought it from didn't do anything until about last month when he called blizzard and got the pw reset. He say he knows the scret question but does not know the CD key. Is their a way he can get the account back? You guys know of any way to get his account back.

Well, only thing i can think about is , is the guy he bought it from the Original Owner? Since the thing ive thaught about was, that you send them your (OO's) ID, the SQ/SA, and the Full name of the registered account. Dont know how it works in the US since i am EU, but yeah, read it through, call and try to say that someone scammed you maybe??

hes probably out of luck. if the account wasn't originally your friends to begin with (with the account under his name etc) he won't be able to get it back because technically you're not supposed to trade/sell accounts in the first place

Thats what I told him. I said you could try to call and say he is him but he seems to be warry of that.

if you actually are not the OO there is about a 2% chance to get the account back, thats what i would say. Try it the European way, send in a ID copy if you have one.

No offense, but I'd recommend you do not listen to people on these forums who have less than 5 rep. Most of them do not know what they are talking about.

I'm assuming this is a US account. If so, all you need to do is call up Billing and say you'd like to update your email. Give the first and last name of the account. Then, they'll ask for the answer to the secret question. Answer it.

Then, they'll simply ask what you'd like them to change the email to. And you're done.

And just to let you know, this is an incredibly common and easy thing to do. Calling Blizzard to change the email (and thus "take") an account that is not yours, by supplying info on the account, is known as "recalling." Recalling is a vital part of scamming in general, and is probably the most basic technique any scammer should learn.

your an absolute failure. all you need is the full info to the account including SA, u do not need CD key for US.

2% my ass, everytime ive called in on over 100 accounts ive gotten it.

If the account is US, no. US accounts cannot have their secret question or answer changed under any circumstances. Even if you sent in ID and provided all of the account info, you could NEVER change the account secret question or answer.

You can retrieve it by sending in ID, but that's not changing it.

Also, you still haven't answered if this account is US or EU.

Sorry its a US account. I was trying to get my friend to tell me the SA and the account name so I can get the email changed.

Okay. Again, you need the:

-Account name
-First name on the account
-Last name on the account
-Answer to the account's secret question

Here is another question. is their a way to prevent him from just truning around and doing the same thing again?
If he is able to get back into the account would it be best to just raid the account and and take all the stuff that he did and leave the account bare or just wait and see what the guy does.

he can get it back again if u recall it, I suggest xferring the char off.
