Can I get on a private server using the beta files?

With the beta newly being released, I was wondering if any private servers would still work using the beta files?

I was considering creating my own private server and running around on my own. But could I get some sort of a confirmation that it is possible to run around on a private server using current beta files?

Or are there any private servers up and running with the beta files?

Thanks and +rep for some answers.

Try to find one of those people hosting that Mango's Alpha Server thingy. If that made any sense.
